GRAHAM LONGSTAFF MEMORIAL CUP

Welcome to round 6 of the NBL1 South 2024 season Today is BIG! We welcome the highly fancied Knox Raiders to Montmorency Secondary College in what is set to be an epic afternoon of hoops.
Today the men ’ s teams will compete for the Graham Longstaff Memorial Cup The trophy is in recognition of the contribution that Graham made as a coach at the Knox Raiders in particular but also where Graham’s coaching started; the Eltham Wildcats Basketball Club. The trophy will be awarded to the winner of each men ’ s NBL1 game between the two clubs.
The Women’s game will be a great test for our Wildcats. Knox are currently in 6th position with a 6-1 record and have claimed big wins over Sandringham, Dandenong, and DV with their only loss coming against the Ringwood Hawks. Alicia Froling, Paige Bradley, Kiera Rowe are the key players to watch but the Raiders line-up features a wealth of talent that can’t be underestimated. Pizzey, Leidel, Riley, Dufficy and Wynne will all need to be at their best to get the win.
The Men’s game will be a display of elite level basketball like no other. Knox, the defending National Champions have weapons all over the court and can beat you in a variety of ways. Feagin & Rapp are keys here. Expect your Eltham Wildcats to step up to the challenge led by Glover, Sykes, Bissainthe and Foxwell.
As always, we wish all teams the best of luck and we encourage all spectators watching live or via the live stream to support their team loud, proud, and respectfully.
Go Wildcats!

The Eltham Wildcats Basketball Club had humble beginnings from basketball activities within Eltham High School. After a series of informal games against various schools, the first two teams were entered into an organised competition, the Presbyterian Men’s Basketball Association in the winter season of 1965.
From these beginnings, the Club, has developed and grown to now cater for 6,000+ participants, both male and female of all ages It has a turnover of $4 million and a team of paid employees working out of offices at Eltham High School & Montmorency Secondary College. This team is underpinned by a large group of casual employees and dedicated volunteers. We provide pathways for players, coaches, technical officials and administrators starting with our extensive range of beginner programs, our junior domestic Wildcat teams (playing in the EDJBA), our junior championship teams (playing in the VJBL) and our local adult competitions held Monday - Thursday nights.
At an elite level, the club has men ’ s and women ’ s teams playing in the Youth (u23) competitions run by Basketball Victoria’s ‘Big V’. In 2018. the Eltham Wildcats were accepted as a foundation member of the inaugural NBL1 competition, the premier winter competition in Australia and supported by the National Basketball League
The Club exists to serve the surrounding community through the provision of opportunities for recreation, enjoyment and the pursuit of excellence, for all those who wish to participate, irrespective of age, gender or ability. For these reasons, the Club runs a diverse programme to cater for the variety of interests of the members of the community.
We’ve hosted our annual January basketball tournament for over 50 years, in conjunction with Dandenong Basketball Association since 1996. It is the largest junior basketball tournament in the world with participants from all over Australia and New Zealand. In recent times, we ’ ve seen teams compete from USA, China, FIJI, Lithuania and Singapore. The 2024 event had 15,238 players playing for 1,673 teams
