It was a night in June of 1975, near the town of Amagá, when Mary dreamt that she built a small shack to sell buñuelos, empanadas, chicken pies, and hot chocolate.

The next day she woke up and told her husband: “Mijo, put on your boots” and together they started shaping this dream by first building a firewood stove where they could prepare delicious typical food of Antioquia. Days later, as it had happened in her dream, cars lined up down the road filled with people eager to try the unique flavors of Mary´s shack.

Time passed and El Rancherito, as people had started calling the place, transformed into a restaurant with a wide offer of traditional delicacies and a service that to this day makes visitors feel at home.

More than 40 years later and thanks to all of our clients, El Rancherito is the main chain of Colombian traditional food in Antioquia.
