El maestro de Arvin High School que fue arrestado durante el horario escolar bajo sospecha de conducta sexual inapropiada con un menor se declaró inocente. El 15 de noviembre de 2023, Michael Parra fue arrestado en los terrenos de la escuela después de que el Departamento de Policía de Arvin recibiera una llamada sobre sus presuntos actos sexuales con un menor. Parra, de 44 años, había sido maestra de manufactura en Arvin High School desde 2021 y no había estado involucrada previamente en ningún incidente o investigación. Bakersfield, Ca. — El Fiscal General de California, Rob Bonta, anunció hoy el arresto de siete sospechosos como parte de una operación de aprehensión de depredadores sexuales de dos días en el condado de Kern. La operación se centró en adultos que buscaban explotar sexualmente a niños mediante el uso de agentes encubiertos y detectives que se hacían pasar por menores que ofrecían sexo a cambio de dinero en sitios web en línea comúnmente utilizados por víctimas de tráfico sexual. Los depredadores suelen acceder a estos mismos sitios web para pagar y reunirse con las víctimas por actos sexuales. En una sociedad en la que las redes sociales tienen una gran influencia en los jóvenes, se hace más difícil evitar la prevalencia de la cultura de la violación presente hoy en día. Las redes sociales representan muchas narrativas en las que se normaliza participar en relaciones con figuras de autoridad. Gran parte de lo que es popular hoy en día sigue historias que involucran los deseos sexuales de las personas con menores. Pretty Little Liars es un ejemplo de esto. El programa retrata a una profesora de inglés de secundaria que tiene una aventura secreta con un estudiante mucho después de que se descubre que es menor de edad. Programas como este no muestran las consecuencias en la vida real de una relación con tales dinámicas de poder. Este tipo de medios están siendo consumidos por las generaciones más jóvenes y se hacen pasar por buenos. Según The Children’s Treatment Center, alrededor de 3.5 millones de estudiantes de 8º a 11º grado informaron que habían tenido contacto sexual físico con un funcionario escolar. Este número solo aumenta cuando se tiene en cuenta cualquier otro tipo de conducta sexual inapropiada, como el lenguaje inapropiado por parte del maestro; sin embargo, no incluye el estupro. El estupro se define como las relaciones sexuales con un menor cuando las relaciones sexuales son acordadas por ambas partes, no forzadas. Esto todavía se considera violación porque se considera que un menor es demasiado joven para dar su consentimiento legal a cualquier forma de contacto sexual, incluido el sexo. Según reveló The Washington Post, aproximadamente el 35 por ciento de los maestros que han sido acusados o condenados por conducta sexual inapropiada han utilizado las redes sociales para aprovecharse de sus víctimas o continuar con el asunto entre estudiantes y maestros. El comportamiento negligente de Parra ha sido la causa de mucha ruina. Fue su esposa quien encontró las perturbadoras conversaciones entre él y su alumno. La esposa de Parra afirma que había sospechado que él tenía una aventura durante meses y accedió a su teléfono, donde luego descubrió los mensajes de texto sexualmente explícitos en la aplicación conocida como Snapchat. Además, la ausencia de Parra ha afectado a sus actuales alumnos. “Cada vez que se lo llevaban estábamos trabajando en un proyecto, que nos hacía ilusión. Así que, desde el incidente, no hemos podido terminarlo. Además, confiaba en ese proyecto porque me iba a ayudar a subir mi calificación”, declaró Severo. “También estábamos en el proceso de llenar y entregar estos comprobantes para que pudiéramos recibir créditos universitarios por la clase. Todavía no hemos podido entregarlos y ahora nos preguntamos si vamos a recibir el crédito universitario por la clase o no. Tampoco hemos podido hacer ningún trabajo relacionado con la fabricación en esa clase, ya que nuestra escuela no ha podido encontrar reemplazos calificados, principalmente hemos estado viendo películas”. Dado que Severo es un estudiante de último año, estos créditos no son algo que deba tomarse a la ligera. Actualmente se desconoce si el Superintendente de Escuelas del Condado de Kern logrará encontrar un reemplazo para Parra antes de que finalice el año escolar. Severo también afirma que se ha sentido incómodo en la escuela desde el incidente: “Un chico que se veía y se presentaba como un tipo normal, agradable y de familia resultó ser una persona extremadamente mala. Ahora siento que tengo que ser más cauteloso porque, aparentemente, ni siquiera puedes confiar en tus propios maestros, alguien a quien se supone que debes admirar. Ahora es como, si alguien así, que parecía una buena persona, resultaba ser una mala persona, entonces me mostró que realmente no se puede decir quién es capaz de tales cosas. Dicen que normalmente la gente muestra señales, pero tuve al Sr. Parra durante 2 años escolares, y nunca asumí que sería el tipo de persona que haría algo así. Esto realmente me hizo darme cuenta de que puede ser cualquiera, incluso los que menos te lo esperas”. Situaciones como esta ejemplifican la gran conversación que la sociedad debería tener. ¿Cómo es que este tipo de situaciones siguen ocurriendo y qué precauciones se están tomando desde el distrito? El Superintendente de Escuelas del Condado de Kern (KCSOS, por sus siglas en inglés) aún no ha emitido una declaración sobre esta situación. Esta es solo una de las cinco investigaciones que incluyen mala conducta que este distrito ha tenido este año. “Me pareció raro que la escuela nunca abordara formalmente la situación, ni siquiera nos preguntaron si estábamos bien”, dijo Severo Gómez. “¿Como si nuestra maestra fuera arrestada durante el horario escolar y no iban a abordarlo? ¿A qué esperan?

La operación de dos días, que concluyó el miércoles, contó con la colaboración del Equipo de Aprehensión de Víctimas de Trata de Personas y Depredadores Sexuales del Departamento de Justicia de California, Investigaciones de Seguridad Nacional, la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Fresno, el Departamento de Policía de Bakersfield, investigadores de la Oficina del Fiscal del Distrito del Condado de Kern y la División de Libertad Condicional del Departamento Correccional de California. La trata de personas no requiere movimiento a través de las fronteras. Según la Línea Directa Nacional contra la Trata de Personas, en 2020 se denunciaron más de 1.300 casos de trata de personas en California, más que en cualquier otro estado del país. Sentencian a hombre que se filmo abusando a un bebé Un residente de la comunidad de Rosamond, el cual se filmará abusando sexualmente a un bebe y distribuyera los videos en línea, ha sido sentenciado a décadas detrás de las rejas. El lunes pasado, el acusado, identificado como Andrés James Sarnowski, recibió la sentencia de 40 anos en una corte federal, según indico el Departamento de Justicia de los EE.UU, Distrito Oriente de California. Sarnowski, 25, se declaro culpable a cargos de producción y distribución de pornografía infantil, mostro el departamento. En el 2020, un agente del FBI vio videos que mostraron a Sarnowski utilizando drogas y abusando sexualmente de un infante. Otro video mostro al acusado abusando sexualmente a una niña de aproximadamente 7 años. En un documento escrito por procuradores se indico que el acusado tomo ventaja de la confianza de otras personas para el cuidado del infante, pero en vez decidió filmarse abusando al infante sexualmente. Aparte, el volvió a poner al infante en peligro al exponer al bebe a narcóticos al soplar humo de lo que creía ser una pipa para fumar cocaína en la cara del niño. Cientos de archivos conteniendo pornografía infantil fueron encontrados en dispositivos electrónicos en la residencia del acusado en la comunidad de Rosamond, donde vivía con su madre. Muere mujer tras ser asesinada por su esposo en hospital de Delano Una mujer fue declarada muerta el pasado lunes por la noche en el hospital de Delano después de que su esposo presuntamente le hubiera disparado. Alguaciles de la Comisaria del Condado de Tulare indicaron que recibieron una llamada a una residencia ubicada en la cuadra numero 5400 de la Ellis Road en la comunidad de Alpaugh justo antes de las 5 de la tarde sobre un reporte de un disturbio de la paz. Poco después de que se hiciera la llamada, una mujer llego al hospital de Delano con varias heridas de bala, donde murió a causa de estas. Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios de la Comisaria del Condado de Tulare fueron llamados a escena, y tomaron cargo de la carpeta de investigación. Vinculan a asesino por atentado de muerte de un hombre Un jurado del Condado de Kern encontró a un hombre culpable del delito de atentado de muerte en conexión con un tiroteo que tomo lugar en el 2022 en el cual trato de matar a un hombre en una gasolinera de la ciudad de Bakersfield. El jurado vinculo a Keith Brian Tobler por el delito de atentado de muerte y encontró verdadero que Tobler descargo su arma de fuego causando grandes lesiones corporales durante el evento que se llevo a cabo el 11 de febrero del 2022 en una gasolinera ubicada en las calles 34 y Q en Bakersfield. Los disparos dejaron al hombre severamente herido en la cara, pero sobrevivió. Procuradores indicaron que Tobler camino y confronto a la victima la cual estaba cargando gasolina. Video de seguridad mostro como los dos estaban platicando cuando Tobler saco una pistola y le disparo a la victima a punta de canon en la cara. Tobler corrió a un vehículo y huyo de la escena. El fue arrestado varias semanas después.

coercer a un menor el pasado lunes. Documentos judiciales dijeron que el hombre, identificado como Aldo David Alcaraz, 30, de Long Beach utilizo e hizo comunicaciones con contenido explicito sexual por varios días con una persona que se pensaba tenia 14 anos de edad. En enero 23 del 2021, Alcaraz viajo a Bakersfield para juntarse con el supuesto adolescente para tener relaciones sexuales, sin embargo, el “menor” no era mas que un oficial en cubierto. Al llegar a Bakersfield, Alcaraz fue arrestado e ingresado en la cárcel del Condado de Kern. Además de tiempo encarcelado, la sentencia impone que tenga un termino de por vida de supervisión una vez liberado, en el cual Alzaraz tendrá un acceso restringido a menores, computadoras e internet.

El Distrito de Transporte de Golden Empire recibirá testimonios públicos que identifiquen y comenten sobre las necesidades de transporte no satisfechas que puedan existir en el área metropolitana de Bakersfield. Existe una necesidad de tránsito insatisfecha si una persona de cualquier edad o condición física no puede transportarse debido a deficiencias en el sistema de transporte existente y son razonables de satisfacer. Se excluyen (1) aquellas solicitudes de mejoras operativas menores y (2) aquellas mejoras financiadas y programadas para su implementación en el año siguiente. Mi abuelita Mercedes, de quien aprendí a “ahorrar religiosamente” y sin importar lo poco o mucho que se gane, no era tan específica en apuntar todo como lo recomienda esta técnica -que casualmente suena como el revolucionario y también japonés, método de organización Konmari- sin embargo, siempre que regresaba del supermercado o de pagar la electricidad, agua y teléfono, la observaba sacar su libretita repleta de sumas y restas. Claramente, el consejo financiero de detallar gastos y llevar un presupuesto no es nuevo, ni tampoco exclusivo de los japoneses. Lo que está haciendo al “Método Kakebo” tan popular es lo que esconde tras anotar todo, así sea un chicle, un chocolate o una botella de agua. Cuando cumples con el método al pie de la letra, no sólo ahorrarás dinero, sino que lograrás disminuir gastos hasta un 35 por ciento. Ese mismo año regresó a Medellín y comenzó una brillante etapa como arquero del Atlético Nacional, jugando 104 partidos y dejando su portería imbatida en 40 ocasiones. Jugó, además de la liga, copa y Superliga colombianas, en la Copa Libertadores. Logró levantar un total de cinco títulos como arquero de “El Verde”: un torneo Apertura, una Superliga y tres Copas Colombia. Es un arquero que utiliza su altura (1.90 metros) para destacarse desde muy joven, aunque eso no le impide contar con grandes reflejos, sólidas manos y juego con los pies. Además de la “Araña Verde” se le conoce en Colombia como el “tapa penales”. Sobre el primer encuentro que sostuvo la Máquina de Cruz Azul contra Pachuca, se desarrolló en el estadio Azul en el centro de la Ciudad de México, esto luego de que ya no se podrá usar el estadio Azteca debido a su remoción con miras a ser sede del Mundial de Futbol 2026. A los cementeros les vino bien regresar a su antiguo estadio, ya que la afición lo llenó aunque salió desilusionada por haber perdido ante los Tuzos del Pachuca.

Kern BHRS y Kern Libre de Drogas distribuyen casi 600 kits de Narcan durante el conteo de PIT EL POPULAR
BAKERSFIELD – El conteo anual de un punto en el tiempo (PIT, por sus siglas en inglés) del condado de Kern se llevó a cabo el miércoles 24 de enero y los esfuerzos de conteo de este año incluyeron la distribución de Narcan, un medicamento utilizado para revertir rápidamente una sobredosis de opioides. Esta distribución se logró a través de la colaboración de muchos socios comunitarios comprometidos, incluidos los Servicios de Salud Conductual y Recuperación del Condado de Kern (Kern BHRS), la Colaboración Regional para Personas sin Hogar de Bakersfield-Kern, Drug Free Kern (DFK), Hope in the Valley y el Departamento de Trabajo Social de Bakersfield de la Universidad Estatal de California. Los voluntarios distribuyeron casi 600 kits de Narcan a personas sin hogar en todo el condado y un voluntario pudo responder a una emergencia por sobredosis de opioides y revertir con éxito la sobredosis en el campo.
“Estoy increíblemente agradecido por la oportunidad de llevar este medicamento que salva vidas donde más se necesita”, dijo Jamie Bowman, coordinador de prevención de Kern BHRS y presidente de DFK. “Estoy sorprendido por los socios con los que trabajamos y agradecido por la voluntad de todos los involucrados de traer un cambio a la comunidad de Kern”. Como departamento, Kern BHRS tuvo 34 personas voluntarias para el conteo. El Conteo PIT es una instantánea y una encuesta de personas sin hogar no duplicadas realizada en comunidades que reciben fondos del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los Estados Unidos (HUD, por sus siglas en inglés). El conteo PIT de 2024 fue el 15º conteo realizado en el condado de Kern desde enero de 2007. Pastelera cristiana sigue firme contra la persecución en curso por parte del estado de California Los abogados de la Sociedad Tomás Moro continúan defendiendo los derechos religiosos de Tastries Bakery y de los propietarios El estado de California continúa procesando a la diseñadora cristiana de pasteles Cathy Miller por vivir según los principios de su fe. Los abogados de Thomas More Society presentaron una respuesta el 18 de enero de 2024 en nombre del propietario de una panadería de Bakersfield, California, a una apelación del Departamento de Derechos Civiles de California. La agencia gubernamental todavía está tratando de sacar a Miller del negocio, incluso después de que el Tribunal Superior de California del condado de Kern defendiera sus derechos a la libertad de religión y expresión. La apelación del estado, que está siendo escuchada por el Tribunal de Apelaciones del Quinto Distrito de California, persiste en acusar a Miller y su compañía de discriminación intencional contra dos mujeres por su orientación sexual, en violación de la Ley de Derechos Civiles Unruh de California. Debido al simbolismo de los pasteles de boda y a la creencia bíblica de Miller de que el matrimonio está destinado a ser entre un hombre y una mujer, cuando se le pidió en agosto de 2017 que diseñara un pastel para una boda entre dos mujeres, las remitió a otra panadería. Unas semanas más tarde, en octubre de 2017, Miller se encontró bajo investigación por parte del Departamento de Empleo y Vivienda Justos (ahora renombrado como el Departamento de Derechos Civiles de California). LiMandri explicó la posición de Miller como propietaria de un negocio cristiano: "Cathy no tenía la intención de causar ningún daño, solo estaba tratando de seguir su fe y su conciencia y defender lo que cree, pero hacerlo de una manera respetuosa, educada y amorosa". LiMandri agregó que Miller habría estado feliz de venderles a las dos mujeres cualquier artículo prefabricado, pero se negó a honrar su celebración con su arte personal, que siempre está diseñado a medida para que coincida con el evento del cliente. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Andrew Halvorsen, de 49 años, de Livermore, se declaró culpable hoy de conspiración para transportar propiedad robada entre estados, anunció el fiscal federal Phillip A. Talbert. Según los documentos judiciales, Halvorsen trabajaba como director sénior de tecnología de la información
para una empresa de análisis de datos de máquinas basada en la nube. En su puesto en la empresa, Halvorsen era responsable de pedir MacBooks de Apple para los empleados de la empresa. En noviembre de 2019, Halvorsen comenzó a robar MacBooks que ordenó y vendió por dinero en efectivo a un individuo que, a su vez, los revendió y envió a compradores fuera del estado de California. En total, Halvorsen robó y vendió al menos 141 MacBooks. El costo para su empleador de esas MacBooks fue de más de $535,000. Este caso es producto de una investigación realizada por el Departamento de Investigación Criminal del IRS y el Buró Federal de Investigaciones. El fiscal federal adjunto Matthew Thuesen está procesando el caso. La jueza federal de distrito Kimberly J. Mueller tiene previsto sentenciar a Halvorsen el 15 de abril de 2024. Halvorsen se enfrenta a una pena máxima legal de cinco años de prisión y una multa de 250.000 dólares. Muere al ser atropellado en la carretera 99
Citan a dos por prostitución en salón de masages
DELANO, CA - Un hombre de aproximadamente 46 añoa murió el martes por la noche cuando el corrió en los carriles de la carretera 99 y se detuvo enfrente de un vehículo que no pudo detenerse a tiempo. El accidente fatal tomó lugar a eso de la 7:48 de la noche en los carriles con dirección al norte de la carretera 99 justo en la rampa de la Avenida 13, según dijo la Patrulla de Caminos. Oficiales indicaron que el occiso pudo haber estado alcoholizado o bajo el control de drogas. El occiso vivía cruzando la calle de la carretera e intencionalmente corrió hacia el tercer carril. El fue declarado muerto en escena. El conductor se detuvo y esperó por los servicios de emergencia.
Dos mujeres recibieron citatorios y dejadas en libetad después de que presntuntamente estuvieron envueltas en actos de prostitución en un salón de masajes ubicado en la comunidad de Rosedlale el martes pasado. En los últimos meses, la Comisaria del Condado de Kern ha recibido multiples quejas sobre el salón “Heavenly Massage” que presuntamente estaba sirviendo como un prostibulo a los clientes del local. Durante un operativo, oficiales en cubierto investigaron los reclamos el martes pasdo y citaron a las dos mujeres, una mujer de 38 años de Bakersfield y otra de 35 años de West Covina por el delito de solicitación de prostitución y la violación de numerosas ordenanzas del condado. El Departamento de Salud ordenó que el salón fuese clausurado de inmediato dado a multiples violaciones. Autoridades indicaron que cualquier persona que sospeche actividad ilegal en un salón de masages puede llamar a la Comisaria al 661-861-3110 o por anonimato al 661-322-4040.
Patrullero envuelto en choque vehicular en la Chester Sur Heridas menores fueron reportadas en un accidente automovilistico en el cual una patrulla del corporativo municipal estuvo involucrada junto con otros dos vehículos. El accidente llevó lugar en la Avenida Chester Sur el miércoles por la mañana. De acuerdo con la agencia policiaca, la carambola tomó lugar a las 7 de la mañana en la esquina de la Avenida Chester Sur con la Louistalot Lane. Autoridades develaron información limitada sobre el accidente, pero confirmaron que solamente se reportaron heridas menores a aquellos involucrados en el accidente.
