Employee Electronics Recycling Challenge September 30 . Employee collection bins will be located inside the fence at the west end of Langhorst Field by the south bleachers (behind Goebel Hall and the Heat Plant/Boiler House). A reserved parking space for drop off will be available. The Living Green Team will be available from 7:00 – 9:30 a.m. to help lift items out of your car. The College office or department that recycles the greatest number of electronic and electric items per employee in the unit will receive the Green Department traveling trophy AND a tasty sustainable lunch courtesy of Chartwells. Some examples of accepted electronics are, but not limited to: Computer Monitors, CRTs, Tape Players, Printed Circuit Boards, Computer Monitors – Flat Panel, CD Players, UPS (personal & network), Televisions – CRTs, Telephones, Microwaves, Televisions – Flat Screen, Cell Phones, Small Household Appliances, Desktop Computers, Fax Machines, Servers, Laptop Computers, Gaming Consoles, Terminals, Keyboards/Mice, Power & Network Cables, Rechargeable Batteries, Toner/Ink Cartridges, Network Hubs, Printers, Switching boxes, Cables/Cords, Scanners / Fax Machines, Controllers, Radios, Modems, Hard Drives, Stereos, VCRs, Docking Stations, CD Rom. News and Campus Initiatives Elmhurst College Joins the Illinois Campus Sustainability Compact Also during the summer, the College joined the Illinois Campus Sustainability Compact and committed itself to attaining a Silver Participation Level within five years. The Sustainability Committee is dedicated to helping achieve this goal, and will take the first step this Fall Term by assembling material for the intermediate Bronze Participation Level award. By way of background, the Illinois Sustainability Compact is a multi-tiered environmental leadership program for Illinois colleges and universities that are interested in incorporating sustainable policies and practices throughout their campus operations, in addition to academic, student life and community engagement activities. Awards and recognition are provided through the Governor’s Office as we attain the milestones and goals of the program. This particular adventure promises to be one of great value to the College and another way to measure our progress.
