Springville Ahh, the sweet smell of autumn. Is there anything more beautiful than the hillsides surrounding Springville changing from deep green to the rich shades of red, orange and yellow? The fall season means cooler temperatures, pumpkinflavored everything, football and the anticipation of the holiday season. And as fall turns to winter, we’re greeted with the first snowfall of the season, as the landscape is transformed into a winter wonderland brimming with activities. Just because the weather changes doesn’t mean the fun stops. We welcome you to We Love Springville Magazine, the first magazine in our area dedicated to providing you with a listing of major upcoming events as well as a comprehensive business directory for Springville and its surrounding communities. By combining a calendar of things to do with places to eat and shop local, it provides you with all the best Springville has to offer. Many of our merchants and organizations provide opportunities to keep visitors and residents alike busy with activities. Whether it’s the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrating the holiday season with a Very Merry Main Street to the Springville Center of the Arts providing high-quality entertainment, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Springville Times each week as well, as we’ll provide you with the most up-to-date information on all the things there are to do and all the places there are to shop local in our area. Fall and winter in Springville and its surrounding communities means an abundance of activities, indoors and out. Whether you want to get out and enjoy the scenery or stay indoors and shop, there’s something for everyone throughout the two seasons. SEPT. 21 • Creek Bend Concert The Creek Bend Bluegrass Band will perform at the Collins Public Library at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Colden’s First Disco • SEPT. 26 Disco Duck, Buffalo’s premier retro band, will perform at Colden’s First Disco at the Colden Gazebo next to the town hall from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring a chair and cooler. SEPT. 28 • SGI HOMECOMING The autumn season means football, and SGI will celebrate its homecoming with a parade that begins at 5:30 p.m. at the high school on North Buffalo Street. Riding in the parade will be this year’s Pop Warner Hall of Fame Inductees: Ann McMahon-Johnston, SGI Class of 1982 (tennis, basketball, track); Harry Scull Jr., SGI Class of 1984 (football, basketball and baseball); and Mark Vasiliauskas, SGI Class of 1990 (football, basketball and baseball). Their induction ceremony takes place on-field just prior to the football game and a reception follows the game at Springville Center for the Arts. RUMMAGE SALE AT BREAD OF LIFE OUTREACH • SEPT. 28-30 The Bread of Life Outreach, located at 8745 Supervisor Ave. in Colden, will hold its annual rummage sale to the general public. SEPT. 29 & 30 • COLDEN FESTIVAL The annual Colden Festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in downtown Colden. This year’s event will feature a juried art show, vendors, live music and more. For more information, visit coldenfestival.com. NATIONAL ALPACA FARM DAYS • SEPT. 29 & 30 Learn more about alpacas at participating farms in the area! Always held during the last weekend in September, National Alpaca Farm Days is a fun annual event that invites the public to learn about these beautiful, versatile animals that have created a remarkable surge in the agribusiness industry over the past two decades. AL’S The 18th annual Craft Show at Aloysius Hall in Springville features crafts, baked goods and raffles with 30 vendors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. SPRINGVILLE OKTOBERFEST • SEPT. 29 The 13th annual event takes place from 2 to 11 p.m. at Fireman’s Park on Nason Boulevard in the village. It features food, music and fireworks — plus much more! There will be a sizeable selection of German food includes sausages, brats, burgers, sauerkraut, German potato salad and pretzel rolls. And of course, craft beers will be on tap, along with local wines.

SGI HIGH SCHOOL WINTER CONCERT • DEC. 19 Celebrate the sounds of the season as students perform in the annual winter concert in the auditorium.
