“My Lottery Dream Home: David’s Happy Ending” airs Friday, Dec. 19, on HGTV.
Largely seen as a follow-up to his 2021 special titled “My Lottery Dream Home: David’s Dream Home,” in which he found the perfect building to remodel to his particular tastes, the new hour-long event follows Bromstad as he works with construction crews and fellow designers to transform his Orlando-based five-bedroom, four-bathroom Tudor into a magical, cozy home. Although originally inspired by fairy tales and his love of Disney, Bromstad rethought his ini tial plan after a life-changing trip to his “an cestral homeland” for his 50th birthday.
With over 50 acres of beautiful landscape McKean Memorial Park is committed to offering a wide variety of burial and memorization options in a peaceful and beautiful setting.

“I decided to celebrate in Norway to see how my ancestors lived and the air they breathed,” Bromstad wrote in an Aug. 17, 2023, birthday post on his Instagram ac
Careful readers may well have already noticed the two-year span from house purchase to Norwegian vacation — as well as the following two from then to now — and that time is well accounted for, too. Unfortunately, as Bromstad was beginning work on the home in 2022, the Orlando area was hit by a huge storm, which flooded part of his newly acquired house and ultimately caused an infestation of mold. After “[demoing] the entire house down to the studs,” Bromstad and his crew are ready to get back to work in “David’s Happy Ending.” But for all his fans, no one is more excited

Kate Winslet and Jack Black in “The Holiday”
hugely popular romantic comedy at any time of year — but especially
rector Nancy Meyers’ 2006 film “The Holiday” gets an AMC showing on Monday, Dec.
Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz star as strangers who both suffer disappointments in love just before Christmas, prompting them to get away by using an Internet site to trade houses for a limited time period ... sending Diaz’s character Amanda to an English cottage, while Winslet’s character Iris enjoys a lavish Los Angeles residence. While getting to know a senior-citizen screenwriter neighbor (a wonderful Eli Wallach), Iris makes a connection with a maker of movie music (Jack Black, applying his humorously subversive image smartly), while Amanda becomes involved with Iris’s soft-hearted brother (a charming Jude Law). As disparate as the main performers are, they work marvelously in their various combinations, making this a perfect entry in the Meyers catalog that includes such other audience favorites as “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003) and “It’s Complicated” (2009).
“The Dick Van Dyke Show” (Catchy Comedy, Sunday, Dec. 14): The award-winning 1960s sitcom concludes a weekend “Binge” marathon celebrating Van Dyke’s 100th birthday. Created and produced by Carl Reiner — who originally had come up with the concept for a show that he intended to star in himself — the series casts Van Dyke as family man and TV-variety writer Rob Petrie, who has a loving wife (Mary Tyler Moore) and son (Larry Matthews) at home, and wisecracking colleagues (Rose Marie, Morey Amsterdam) at work.
