The event took place at Jamestown Community College on May 13, 2022. After a couple of challenging years, it was nice to have an “in-person” Fashion Revue again. The event was hosted by the 4-H Clothing and Textile committee. 4-H members were evaluated on their sewing as well as their modeling abilities. Commentators for the evening were Rachel Comstock and MacKenzy Graziano from Country Critters 4-H club and Garrett Lesch with the Canadaway club. First year cloverbuds receiving special awards were Aubryn Runge and Serenity VanVleck. Other first year sewers were Brielle Crowell, Emelise Runge, and Gianna Valone. The Martha Carlson Memorial Award sponsored by Ethan and Nancy Johnson is given to any male sewer who has participated in the sewing project
for over 3 years and has shown continual improvement in their sewing skills. This year Garrett Lesch from the Canadaway club received this award. Outstanding sewing awards were given to Lilliana Neal, Rachel Comstock, Tyler Crowell, Brielle Crowell, Mackenzy Graziano, Ava Meyer, Grace Meyer, Alivia Richter, Emelise Runge, Ava Valone, and Gianna Valone. The Western District Fashion Revue will be hosted this year by the Erie County 4-H in August at the Erie County Fairgrounds, more details will be available at a later time. The following have been chosen to attend that event Lilianna Neal and Garrett Lesch. Arrangements were made by the County 4-H Clothing and Textile Committee, Debbie Caruso, Joyce Edwards, Suzanne Harper, Janet Heslink, Nancy Johnson, Opal Sprague, and Linda TeCroney. Judges for the evening were Joyce Edwards and Linda TeCroney. Starting the Fashion Revue for the evening with an opening introduction was Janet Hes-

Hosted by the Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua Community Foundations, with support from The Capacity Lab, Give Big CHQ has generated more than $1 million to directly benefit more than 100 nonprofits since 2018. “Give Big CHQ is an easy way for local nonprofits to raise essential dollars for their mission while being part of a fun, engaging community event,” said Leslie Wille, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation Community Engagement Coordinator. By registering for Give Big CHQ, nonprofits create an individual fundraising page that is displayed alongside other nonprofit organizations from throughout Chautauqua County. All dollars raised directly benefit the organization. In addition to raising dollars
and being part of a community event, Give Big CHQ has also helped nonprofits reimagine their yearlong fundraising efforts while providing the necessary support services to ensure the organization’s longterm sustainability. “Over the past five years, we have seen an increase in how nonprofits interact with their donor base to build lasting relationships,” said Liz Jones, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation community impact officer. “Many of the tools and strategies they utilize during Give Big CHQ has carried into their everyday work.” As giving days across the country evolve into a powerful trend to rally people around a specific region or cause, the Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua Community Foundations continue to grow the reach of Give Big CHQ.
