SUNY Fredonia symphony to perform ‘all-American’ concert featuring world premiere
National Comedy Center announces ‘Family Field Trips’ JAMESTOWN — The National Comedy Center has announced “Family Field Trips,” in which all New York state youth are admitted for free for a period of eight weeks inclusive of the current school winter break running through spring break. Children and teens aged 17 and under will be admi ed
for free at any time with an accompanying adult paying admission, now through April 16 (up to two children or teens per adult). Advanced reservations are strongly recommended at ComedyCenter.org/Family. The National Comedy Center was named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of
the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine. The College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Associate Professor David Rudge, will present an all-American concert on Saturday, March 5, at 8 p.m., in King Concert Hall. The concert is free and the public is invited to a end. The world premiere of Dana Wilson's “Concerto for Jazz Piano and Orchestra” will feature Assistant Professor Nick Weiser, pianist and coordinator of Fredonia's Jazz Studies program. “Points of Departure,” by Philadelphia composer Robert Moran, will open the concert under the baton of As-
sistant Conductor Andrew Wol ing, a graduate assistant in Orchestral Conducting in the School of Music. Mr. Wol ing has a B.M. in Saxophone Performance and Music Education from the Chapman University Conservatory of Music and an Artist Diploma in Orchestral Conducting from the San Diego State University School of Music and Dance. The orchestra will conclude the concert, which is free and open to the public, with Leonard Bernstein's dramatic and colorful “Suite for Orchestra” from the opere a "Candide."

By coping with our feelings and ge ing help when you need it, people can pull through and recover from a distressing event or prolonged traumatic experience.” Some signs and symptoms of emotional stress can include: Being more emotional than usual, Having trouble keeping track of things or remembering, Feeling overwhelmed or on edge, Having trouble making decisions, concentrating or ge ing your work done, and
Using alcohol or drugs to relieve your emotional stress. Mask Requirement Lifted for Schools Effective March 2
h Patterson Library To Host Several g March Events For Children, Teens WESTFIELD — The Pa erson Library in Westfield will host several March events for children and teens. From March 1 through March 17, children ages 12 and under can turn in their best “leprechaun traps” for a gi basket prize. Submissions must be no larger than a gallon of milk and are due by closing time on Tuesday, March 15. Library supplies will be available for use. Submissions will be on display at the library for patrons to view. Traps will be scored on creativity and the use of green (a leprechaun’s favorite color), with the winner announced on social media March 17. All traps will be available for pickup a erward. Teen Dungeons and Dragons continue on Wednesdays, March 2 and 16, at 4 p.m. Beginners and experienced players are welcome. Children and teens learning Spanish can receive homework help and practice during our “Drop-In Spanish Hour” at 4 p.m. March 3. The Pa erson Teen Action Board meets March 4 at 4 p.m. Have a say in what goes on at the library for teens and gain leadership experi-
ence and volunteer hours. The library’s new Teen Anime Club continues Monday, March 7, and March 21, at 4:30 p.m. March 8 marks the start of the library’s next “take n’ go kit” with a silhoue e-cut homeschool cra .
