CCIDA Announces New Round Of LowInterest CARES Act Loans
Opera House Cinema Series Features Foreign Language Delicious FREDONIA, NY – The next fi lm in the Cinema Series at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is the foreign language fi lm, “Delicious.” It will be screened Sat., Feb. 19, and Tues., Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Opera House Executive Director Rick Davis notes that “despite the li ing of the statewide mask mandate, the most recent reported numbers indicate that the level of COVID transmission within Chautauqua County remains HIGH, according to CDC guidelines. Thus, we are continuing to require all patrons to wear masks be-
fore, during and a er Opera House events. Masks must securely and snugly cover the nose and mouth entirely. Neck gaiters and bandanas are not permitted.” In “Delicious,” it is 1789 France, just before the Revolution. A talented but prideful chef who has been sacked by his master fi nds the strength to free himself from being a servant when a mysterious woman arrives at the Inn he is living in and offers to pay to become his apprentice, se¡ ing the stage for a wildly enjoyable tale of reignited passion, mentorship and revenge... and of the creation of France’s very fi rst
restaurant. Randy Myers, in the San Jose Mercury News, calls the fi lm a “mouthwatering foodie drama that is as appetizing as the dishes whipped up in it.” Robert Abele, in the Los Angeles Times, calls it a “tale of mirthful mouthfuls and other appetites.” David Stra¡on, in The Australian, calls it “richly enjoyable.” Michael Talbot-Haynes, on FilmThreat.com, says “ ‘Delicious’ is beautiful, entertaining, and achieves greatness by radicalizing eating out, from fi ne dining to going to the midnight burger drive-thru. Salut!” Unrated, “Delicious” runs one hour, 52
minutes. It is in French with English subtitles Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. A book of 10 movie passes is available for $60 at the door or online at www.fredopera. org. For more information, call the Opera House Box Office at 716-679-1891. The Opera House Cinema Series is sponsored by Lake Shore Savings Bank. The Opera House is equipped with individual

J A M E S T O W N , NY— The County of ChauNY tauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) will once again continue to accept applications to provide low-interest loans to both businesses and non-profit organizations as a means to respond to economic injury resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. This new round of funding starts immediately. In early 2020, as part of EDA’s CARES Act Recovery Assistance, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) invited select current recipients of existing EDA-funded Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) awards, including the CCIDA, to apply for a supplemental RLF award to help respond to the unusual and compelling urgency of the coronavirus pandemic. EDA had determined that the CCIDA, by virtue of its longstanding and substantial investment in making credit available to small businesses, possessed unique abilities to support the CARES Act Recovery Assistance initiative and that it was therefore in the public’s best interest to make this award available
on a non-competitive basis. In mid-2020, the CCIDA team immediately responded to this invitation with the required documentation to apply for the funding. As part of the application process, CCIDA staff created a detailed plan for prudently deploying the funds in a way that would provide maximum flexibility for recipients as well as timeliness in deploying the funding in order to accelerate economic recovery within the County. The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) originally announced on September 9, 2020, that the CCIDA had been selected as the recipient of a $10.5 million grant through the CARES Act, which enabled the agency to establish a new Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). The RLF has been providing capital, in the form of low-interest loans, since its initial launch. The RLF Program was made available to a wide-range of industry sectors, including professional services, non-profits, and other sectors that had previously been excluded from receiv
