The Tapestry Resilience Initiative brings new screening tools to their Patients MAYVILLE, NY – Under Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) grant, the Tapestry Resilience Initiative is working with local pediatric primary care providers in Chautauqua County to support our youngest community members and their families by creating awareness of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC)
stones and more. This tool educates and empowers parents to learn about, support and track their child’s development from age 2 through 5 years. Some key markers tracked by the app are chronological gross motor, fi ne motor and writing skills, self-help, cognitive and academic, social and emotional, receptive and expressive language. The

Chautauqua County Offering Masks for Places of Worship Places of Worship Encouraged to Contact the County Executive’s Office to Receive Free Masks MAYVILLE, NY – Chautauqua County recently secured a stockpile of cloth facemasks, which will be allocated to houses of worship to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 among their congregations during the holiday season. This effort to get facemasks out to houses of worship was a result of recent discussions among Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel, County Legislator Terry Niebel, Public Health Director Christine Schuyler, and Office of Emergency Services Director Noel Gu man, as a way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. “I thank Legislator Niebel for suggesting this pro-
gram,” said Wendel. “Our goal is to make masks available in areas that are easily accessible to the public and houses of worship are one of the best places to reach a majority of our residents, especially during the holiday season. We here at Chautauqua County still encourage all residents to mask while in public. We hope that if the County provides masks to our places of worship it will make it more convenient for their parishioners to wear a mask. If we all come together and everyone does their part, we can help protect our communities and overcome this horrible virus.” Chautauqua County will arrange for pick up or delivery of these free masks for
any place of worship in the county. Masks will be available on a fi rst-come, fi rstserved basis until they are gone. For more information or to schedule a pickup or delivery, places of worship are asked to please contact the County Executive’s Office at (716)-753-4211. Chautauqua County continues to advise residents to wear masks while in indoor public locations, especially when social distancing is not possible, as part of a multi-layered COVID-19 mitigation strategy. Chautauqua County also strongly recommends, frequent hand washing, social distancing, and staying home when ill.
