Named in the memory of Professor Emeritus Robert Jordan, who taught at the School of Music from 1980 to 2004, the festival will feature solo and collaborative piano music written by diverse/underrepresented composers, including women, African Americans and members of the LGTBQ
All festival events will be virtual and free to the public, but online registration is required to receive Zoom links. Nina Simone, a singer, songwriter, musical arranger and civil rights activist whose music spanned a broad range of styles – classical, jazz, folk, R&B, gospel and pop – said in a famous interview that the role of the artist is “to reflect the times we are living in,” said School of Music Assistant Professor Eliran Avni.
Schumer in Jamestown to tout Rescue Plan, aid to performing arts venues

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced that the Save Our Stages program will open to applications on April 8 after Schumer’s continued push to implement the program. SBA has also released an updated PPP application that now allows venues to apply for a PPP loan as well as a Save Our Stages grant,
