Community Parade Call for Floats SPRINGVILLE — Artists and wouldA Community Parade is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 and area organizations can compete to win prizes for the best float. The Dairy Fest, with the accompanying parade, would traditionally occur on the first weekend in June. With disruptions due to the pandemic, there will be no Dairy Fest this year, but a partnership between SGI Schools and Springville Center for the Arts will keep the parade on Main Street. “The Dairy Fest parade
has meant so much to the Springville community. We just want to see it happen again and hopefully keep this tradition alive,” said Seth Wochensky, Executive Director of SCA. “Especially after the tough last few years we’ve had, I think it’s really important that we all come together and celebrate what makes Springville great.” The full day of events will include the ribboncutting for the Village Skatepark, the Community Parade, Art Crawl, and an Afterparty, providing
Springville residents with an array of activities. Organizations are encouraged to create floats for the parade, with prizes being awarded in three categories: Art, Agriculture, and Skatepark. Application forms can be found at SpringvilleArtCrawl.com and need to be submitted by May 15th. Kids who utilize the skatepark are encouraged to bike, skate, blade or scooter in the parade. Parade volunteers are also needed; anyone interested can call SCA at 716.592.9038.

Remote working has been associated with a greater work-life balance since the start of the pandemic more than two years ago, but a recent survey suggests that perception may be misleading. According to an Airtasker survey of more than 1,000 full-time employees, roughly half of whom worked remotely, a greater percentage of remote workers reported struggling with work-life balance compared to inoffice workers. Twentynine percent of remote workers reported struggling with work-life balance, and that’s not the only areas where they’re struggling more than employees who go to the office full-time. A greater percentage of remote workers reported being overly stressed during the workday compared to in-office workers. More remote workers than inoffice workers reported high levels of anxiety during the workday as well.
