Don’t be fooled by the recent thaw—there is still plenty of winter left, which means plenty of time to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Ellicottville and the Enchanted Mountains this time of year! Read on and get ready to mark your calendar. Feb. 1-2 brings the NorAM Snowboard Race to the slopes of Holiday Valley. Come watch these talented young adult riders charge the gates. Spectators welcome along Yodeler. On Friday, Feb. 9, check out Holiday Valley’s Mountain Man Day from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Enjoy a day full of skiing, snowboarding and activities for the Mountain Men of Holiday Valley. Includes ski and snowboard demo equipment from local shops, recreational racing, lunch, gifts, prizes and tastings from Southern Tier Brewing, Ellicottville Distillery plus a cigar roller. Bring a friend and come join the fun. $85 for passholders or $105 including a lift ticket. Bring a brand new skier and he’ll get a free lesson, rental and beginner area lift ticket. Want to join other freespirited skiers for a day of peace, love and telemark skiing? Head to Telestock on Friday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Centered around Holiday Valley’s Yodeler Champagne Sundeck, the day includes free tele demos with the pros, cool merch and a

January was National Safety Month, but safety rules and basic etiquette should be season-long priorities when heading to the slopes. When it comes to skiing and snowboarding, there are days the resorts can be busy, and there are days you feel you have the whole place to yourself. While crowd size is a factor, there are important rules to remember every time you’re there.

Last-second Free Throws Send Ellicottville to 59-58 Win By Sam Wilson

Griffin Chudy couldn’t finish the game off with two free throws, so he took it upon himself to make an improbable play, and earn two more.
