Mulga's exhibition Heading North brings funky animals and summer vibes to life on surfboards and fiberglass panel in a celebration of the laid-back spirit of the Mid North Coast.
Known for his unique style of intricate line work and bright colours, Mulga’s art imagines a tropical world where tigers wear sunglasses and surfing gorillas rule, like some kind of funky planet of the apes.
For Heading North, Mulga (AKA Joel Moore) has collaborated with surfboard shaper Stuart Patterson, who created custom fibreglass panels that have become canvases for Mulga’s latest works.
To coincide with Heading North, Mulga has created a mural in Vernon Street, near the Jacks Simmons Arcade and Coffs Central. The mural, which features several Coffs Harbour icons, was commissioned by Coffs City Centre – an initiative of the City of Coffs Harbour.
