The three species differ mainly in colour and choice of habitat. The sandy coloured golden jackal prefers open, grassy plains, while the side-striped jackal lives along waterways with dense undergrowth and is drabber in colour, has a white tip on the tail, and had indistinct stripes along the sides of the body. The black-backed jackal is recognized by the mantle of black hair on the back that contrasts with the rustcoloured body. The tail is black-tipped, as is that of the golden jackal. The black-backed jackal is usually the most frequently seen, as it is more diurnal than the other two species.

The jackals diet consists of small antelopes and also eat reptiles, insects, ground-dwelling birds, fruits, and grass. The jackal is commonly seen scavenging on old carcases left by other predictors. They even scavenge around dumps for scrapes of food

Sustainability- Plants or animals That Should be Kept in the Zoo

Jackals should be kept in the wild because they clean there environment because they dispose of all the wasted food and rubbish. Jackals are kept in zoos to try and attract the public and they are classified as a least concern and are not endangered at the moments. I don’t think that any animals should be kept in zoos. I only have on exception for animals in a zoo and that breeding program but they shouldn’t be open to public viewing.
