Trout Stocking in Clay County

Buffalo Creek was stocked with an abundance of trout thanks to the efforts of The Clay Business Development Authority. Mitch DeBoard, President, said, “We were pleased to be able to stock Buffalo Creek again this year with the help of a grant from The WV Department of Environmental Protection. We used the Elk River Trail jitney to haul the trout and release them at various spots along Buffalo Creek.”

Thank You WV American Water

The Elk River Trail Foundation was the recipient of a $2,340 Environmental Grant Program check from the WV American Water company. This grant will help support the Clean Places Project that decreases the amount of litter in and along the Elk River waterways. Remember, bring a small bag with you for all of your empty bottles and trash. We all can help keep the Elk River Waterways and Trails clean!
