Reader's Submission

This month Sylvia Bleu Pierson, a sixth grader at Elkview Middle School, submitted the perfect artwork to accompany our feature stories on the Elk River Trail. Her painting is an acrylic on board. Many of us know her dad, Jeff Pierson, who studied Illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design, and is a Freelance illustrator and public artist as well as the Director of Public Art for the City of Charleston. Her mother is Shannon Pierson and her stepmother is Kara Van Pelt. We look forward to seeing more of Sylvia’s talented artwork! Her Elk artwork will be included in the Elkview Middle School 2021-22 yearbook.
