Member Services
The Sheila Ray Adult Center manages a Lending Closet of medical equipment available to Elk Grove Village Residents and Sheila Ray Adult Center Members. Available items include walkers, canes, wheelchairs, grabbers and knee walkers. Upon returning equipment, monetary donations are appreciated.

To make your reservation, call 847.299.6212 one hour before you need a ride. Persons 65+yrs pay a reduced one-way fare of $0.65.

Township Dial-a-Bus
Elk Grove Township offers Door-to-Door Senior Bus Service, 847.437.0300. This “Senior Bus” is for anyone 55+yrs and older, handicapped or not, living in Elk Grove Township. You must call the day before to arrange for a pickup and it will take you anywhere in Elk Grove Township.

All items were previously owned and loved. We accept donations of gently used or unused items for resale. All proceeds benefit the Sheila Ray Adult Center.

AARP Income Tax
AARP offers free, confidential tax return preparation for moderate to low-income taxpayers, with a focus on those 60+yrs. Trained and IRS-certified volunteers provide this service at the Al Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd. Appointments are available on Wednesdays and Fridays starting in February 2026. No Appointments available on Feb 18, Mar 6 or Mar 18. Sign-ups begin on January 2, 2026. To schedule an appointment, please call 847.364.7224.
