Three years ago, at the beginning of October and just before dawn, before the birds started singing and light was barely visible in the sky. A local commercial pilot was heading to simulator training in Long Beach Ca. Only a couple blocks from his home he realized he forgot his headset and turned around . As he drove up the hill, he saw a silhouette of an object next to a flagpole. As he continued up the hill it was getting larger in size. Not jumping to conclusions, he kept an eye on it. As he reached the top of the hill the trees and homes started blocking his view of the object. He was now able to estimate its

size and determine it was moving. Quicky, he grabbed hi~ cell phone and called his wife. He explained why he was coming home and what he was looking at in disbelief. As he turned the corner he could see the object, telling his wife to get the kids so they could see .it and hung up in anticipation. Could it be? No way... what the hell was one doing here? The object was approximately 6 to 10 feet tall and was shaped similar to a bell with an elongated top or lipstick tube. Due to the time of day no details were visible. The object moved slowly over a row of homes on the east side of his street. There was no wind and its movement was smooth as

The dark •silhouette made it impossible to see if the obje,t · • was just above or just ·beh i'ttd ' · the homes. But there it was . Knowing traffic was going to start soon he went home, anxious to see if his family saw it. They did! His wife came out 't S: give him his headset. They could barely make out ' the object now behind the homes. A quick kiss and he drove off to training. Later he learned that his wife and kids went upstairs to view the object. They said they could see it, not moving, silent and remaining stationary for 10 or 15 minutes before it disappeared behind the hill .
