Seattle lies on a narrow strip of land between the salt waters of Puget Sound and the fresh waters of Lake Washington. In the winter, residents travel to the mountains, no so far in the distance, to go skiing or snowboarding. In the summer, Seattleites visit one of the many beaches and parks to experience the fresh outdoors. Seattle’s music scene has always been notable, with the origins of bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. Tourists and Seattleites can visit the Experience Music Project for different exhibits about musical geniuses and visit the Seattle Center right next door for some concerts and food.
