THE BRAUNTON MUSEUM AND INFORMATION

2021 has been a challenging year for everyone, not least the museum. Covid 19 has impacted us all in different ways, however we were delighted to be able to open up during the year and once more welcome all the visitors to this lovely part of North
Devon, many of whom had never been this way in the past. As usual we were able to send them on their way with maps and brochures and a smile on their faces. During the lockdown we took the opportunity to do some essential repairs and improvements to the building, in particular removing an interior wall which has improved visibility both into, and out of, the museum. Alterations to the administration area and new carpets throughout have brought things up to date. We have all been aware of the safety required for all our staff, and with the screens provided we feel we have acted in a fitting way for their personal protection.
Fundraising has been minimal, and the loss of the Charity Christmas Cards has been notable. Thank you to all who came in to purchase them, we hope we shall have a range next year. Our recent Coffee Morning raised £182, it was lovely to see everyone again, thank you for your support. So, 2022 beckons, we hope to have a new exhibition in place covering the Bulb Farm which was so important to the village between the war years.
We reopen on Monday 17th January, from 10am to 1pm. We shall open mornings only until the February half term. Admission to the museum is free and we look forward to meeting our local residents and visitors once again .School parties are most welcome, the children full of curiosity and questions. You can contact us on 01271 816688 for more information.
