With more people than ever owning dashcams, helmet cameras, mobile phones and even video doorbells it’s increasingly likely poor driving will be caught on camera.

Members of the public can report and submit digital footage showing potential moving traffic offences securely online.

As part of Operation Snap there are a broad range of offences that we will review including dangerous driving, driving whilst using a mobile phone, driving without due care and attention, careless driving, overtaking on solid white lines, not in proper control of the vehicle, traffic light contravention or any other road traffic offence that is clearly shown in the footage.

By submitting video evidence of these incidents through Op Snap it allows Police to take action, hold drivers accountable and educate or prosecute those who are falling short. By doing so, we hope to improve the overall standard of road use in Devon & Cornwall and, ultimately, reduce the number of people who are killed or seriously injured.

Last year was another record year for Op Snap with submissions rising to 6,272, taking the overall number of submissions to more than 20,600 since the scheme was set up in 2019. Police officers cannot be everywhere, so the public’s help is vital when it comes to keeping our roads safe.

To find out more about Op Snap – or to submit video footage from any device – visit the Devon & Cornwall Police website or dc.police.uk/opsnap

SPRAY FOAM REMOVAL FROM

£875.00

If spray foam insulation has been installed in your property, it could affect its mortgageability when you decide to sell. The presence of spray foam between the rafters may make it difficult for potential buyers to secure a mortgage. Additionally, if left in place, spray foam can trap moisture and cause the rafters and timbers to rot over time. Our professional roofing team can safely remove the spray foam from your roof. We will sand down the rafters, fill any damaged wood and treat it to prevent future decay. All spray foam will be carefully removed from your property and disposed of responsibly.

Quilt Exhibition Celebrates Friendship and Craftsmanship

A vibrant exhibition of quilts will take place in Braunton this May, celebrating the creativity and camaraderie of the “From a Distance” Quilters. Scheduled for Sunday and Monday, May 25 and 26, 2025, from 10am to 4pm, the event will be held at the Parish Hall on Challoners Road.

The “From a Distance” Quilters group was established a decade ago by local quilting tutor Liz Musselwhite and has grown into a community of 15 women passionate about their craft. The name "From a Distance" was coined early on when the group began - often, as beginners, mistakes were made, and they would support each other with the phrase, "From a distance, it looks fine" or "No one will notice that from a distance!" The name stuck, and it now reflects both the group's early struggles and their collective growth as quilters. Over the years, members have honed their skills under Liz’s expert guidance, producing stunning quilts that combine artistry and personal expression.

The exhibition will showcase a variety of quilts, from large, intricate works to smaller, contemporary pieces. Some designs adhere to traditional patterns, while others explore modern techniques, offering something for seasoned quilters and craft enthusiasts alike. The event promises to inspire all visitors with its celebration of beautiful craftsmanship.

More than a display of talent, the exhibition highlights the deep bonds among the group members. Over the years, the quilters have supported each other through life’s joys and challenges, including births, marriages, and losses. Each quilt on display represents not only hours of dedication but also the shared experiences and friendship that define the group. Their work, often displayed in their homes or gifted to loved ones, will now reach a

In addition to the quilts, the event will feature a raffle, tombola, and refreshments, making it a fun outing for families. Entry is £2 for adults, while children attend for free. This exhibition is an opportunity to celebrate a decade of creativity and community, welcoming everyone to enjoy and be inspired by the art and the stories behind it.

Photo marks the presentation of a 60th birthday quilt, made collaboratively by the group, to our tutor Liz.

Nuche is a one-year-old Lurcher looking for a fun loving home from Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in Ilfracombe.

He is a fabulous lad who is always up for some fun. He loves having a secure space to run around, play football, play fetch, and have a game of tug. Nuche thrives with a good mix of physical exercise and mental stimulation. He is a clever lad who loves to use his brain. He likes to show off his tricks for treats, learn new things, use his nose to play scent games, and get involved in agility training.

Nuche is up for long walks and loves to splash around in the sea on his longline. He has learnt to wear a muzzle when out and about, as he loves to eat everything he sees which isn’t always good for him. He continues to do well with learning to make new doggy friends and once he trusts a person, he is affectionate and loves a fuss.

Nuche needs a home with adults who are keen to get involved with positive reward training. He is seeking an active lifestyle and would suit a quieter home environment. Nuche is looking to be the only dog in the home, with no other pets. He is happy to travel in the boot of a car and would love opportunity to explore different outdoor walks. Nuche adores the company of his human friends, so time left alone will need to be build up gradually.

For more information about Nuche or any of the other dogs in Dogs Trust Ilfracombe’s care, visit www.dogstrust.org.uk/ilfracombe

CAT OF THE MONTH - TED

Big, beautiful and cuddly 4.5 yr old Ted is a cat who loves some fuss and a knee to sit on. Having come to us because he couldn't cope with another cat in 'his' house, he now needs a new home where he'll be the only pet, and where he'll be living with adults and older children only. Coming from a country home, he would be happiest in a rural environment, away from busy roads. Could find a space for this lovely cat in your home?
