With billions of dollars of student debt cleared from the books, millions woke up today to a different financial world. One where they have a higher net worth, more purchasing power and better access to financial products, like mortgages.

Braun adds that student debt owned by the government has gone up more than 600% since the Great Recession. “So this can’t continue. The U.S. government’s got to figure out a way that they don’t have this larger burden of student loans affecting their budgets across time.”

“Obviously, we don’t have a lot of the details, and I think those details are going to be very important,” says Persis Yu, policy director and Managing Counsel at the Student Borrower Protection Center. Debt piling up Student loans make up the second-biggest chunk of household debt in the U.S., next to mortgages. It totals $1.6 trillion for 45 million borrowers. About 92% of that is federal student loans. And while the one-time cancellation and potentially smaller payments in the future is a relief, it can also make some people think it’s likely to happen again. “It doesn’t fix it for the overall problem, which is dramatic increases in student loan borrowers,” says Phillip Braun, clinical professor of finance at North Western University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Forgiveness has been a long time coming President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that the Department of Education will forgive up to $20,000 in student loans for those who qualified for Pell Grants and $10,000 for all other borrowers earning less than $125,000. Jacoby Tatum was involved in the murder of our father and three other armed robbery cases, but he will now be allowed to go to work and church alongside other Dallas residents. We are deeply dismayed and disturbed by this decision. We truly believe this individual should be behind bars right now given his role in multiple violent crimes in Dallas that happened less than a year ago and ended in the murder of our father. Public safety should be the primary concern, and we are truly worried for Dallas residents who could face what we had to face because of the release granted by the judge today.”

American hosted Gigi Coleman, Bessie Coleman’s great-niece, on the flight.

Forgiving $10,000 per borrower making less than $125,000 would cost taxpayers $300 billion this year, according to the Penn Wharton Budget Model. However, the model hasn’t been updated since the announcement that many people would have up to $20,000 forgiven. Braun says forgiveness may encourage people to take on more debt, or else give institutions a reason to raise the cost of schooling.

Bessie Coleman, born in 1892 to a family of sharecroppers in East Texas, first became interested in aviation after hearing stories from soldiers returning from World War I. She completed flight school despite being the only student of color in her class and training in an unreliable and dangerous biplane. After earning her license, Coleman returned to the U.S. and performed as a stunt flier at air shows. “Queen Bess,” as she was known, was a popular draw at a time when aviation technology was still a novelty, according to a book about her published by the Smithsonian Institution Press. She used her platform to encourage other Black people to fly. Coleman died in 1926. She fell from a plane to her death when, with a mechanic at the controls, a wrench got stuck in the plane’s ©2022gears.

Tatum was one of four individuals who went on a crime spree on November 16, 2021, that ended with the murder of Ali Elbanna in the Costco parking lot in Dallas on Park Lane.

“The government actually has to make it more difficult for people to borrow, and get student loans… Something has to be done,” says Braun. “And my recommendation is making it more difficult for student borrowers to get money. And that’s the opposite of that.” Planning your next steps So where do you go from here? Information on the plan is still trickling out, but Palomar at The Institute for College Access and Success has some tips. You’ll want to keep an open line of communication with your loan servicer, she says.

DALLAS — On Monday, August 22, 2022, Dallas County Judge Grace Lewis, filling in for Judge Lela Mays of the 283rd District Court in Dallas, ruled that the leg monitor for defendant Jacoby Tatum must remain in place, keeping him on house arrest, but allowed for work and church release for Mr. Tatum. She also mentioned that the Dallas County leg monitor supervision team can potentially allow for additional release opportunities.

“I am grateful for American Airlines to give us this opportunity to highlight my greataunt’s accomplishments in the field of aviation,” Gigi Coleman said in the video.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of the crew where we’re inspiring young girls, young girls of color, to see the various roles that these women play in every aspect to make this flight possible,” said Beth Powell, the flight’s captain, in an American video about the Aug. 8 flight.

DALLAS — Mayor Eric Johnson on Thursday announced a new initiative to increase business franchising in the city — particularly in historically underserved and overlooked Mayorcommunities.Johnson, who has made workforce development a top priority, tapped Carlos White — a Dallas attorney who specializes in franchise law — to serve as Franchise Impact Ambassador and chair the Mayor’s Franchise Initiative. Through the initiative, White hopes to make Dallas a global hub for franchising by forming partnerships that can help teach the city’s residents how to create, systematize, and scale successful businesses.

Did y’all know the Federal Government has a GAG ORDER on why upwards of 40 million peeps will maybe have no water or food sometime in 2023. Why are those in power preventing anyone from even discussing this issue down to the point that there is an illegal federal gag order on the nation’s weathermen at the National Weather Service and NOAA? Look it up SHEEPLE! In yesterday’s essay called “THEY WANT TO ENSLAVE US” I specifically quoted Uncle Joe’s executive Order on digital assets. In the order it also said “ national security; the ability to exercise human rights; financial inclusion and equity; and ENERGY DEMAND AND CLIMATE CHANGE”. WTF does digital assets have to do with energy demand and climate change? They know peeps don’t read, they know they have control over the media formats and they know the majority of the peeps are ‘SHEEPLE.’ Have you ever thought why sheep is mentioned over 500 times in the Bible? Your pastor knows this. Believe me the beast and the Sons of Perdition have read the Bible too. The beast is a liar, cheater, deceiver and cunning since the beginning of time.

Don’t y’all know the WORD says your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young White has been recognized four times by D Magazine as one of the city’s best lawyers. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Carey Law School, he is a partner at Lathrop GPM LLP. He previously served on the boards of Southern Dallas Economic Development Board and Dallas County Big Brothers Big WhiteSisters.plans to begin engaging stakeholder organizations soon. He has met with the mayor’s Workforce Czar, Lynn McBee, and discussed how to move the program forward. The franchising initiative will target a different population than McBee’s Workforce Dallas effort, but the goals are essentially the same: work to increase the economic mobility and viability of southern Dallas residents by guiding them to programs that help provide the skills they need to become more financially successful.

men will see visions; therefore, there will be a change in the atmosphere doubting Thomas’s of the world. In case you didn’t know humans can survive longer without food than water. Without water, there are no crops or cattle. Other studies point to increasing global demand for water as well. A 2019 study, “Reassessing the projections of the World Water Development Report,” found that water demand increased 600% over the past century. Thus, they want to bring the peeps of the world right into subjugation and the peeps will beg, borrow, steal and kill as well as have civil conflict will arise starting in 2024 here in the USA. Climate engineering researcher Dane Wigington believes the cycle has been propelled forward by manmade forces. “The mainstream media and official sources are doing their best to sweep it under the rug. We are talking about 40 million people that will be impacted by the drying out of the Colorado River basin and tributaries.” We can speculate to the motives and agendas behind those who run these operations, but the fact that climate engineering is the primary causal factor for the western drought is inarguable as they try and play like Lil gods of mythology. Y’all do know extreme water rationing is coming as soon as 2023. Now water rationing in the western USA could start as early as 60 days from now. Once Lake Mead reaches “dead-pool” status, crops will die out, water will be unavailable for irrigation, and there will be no electrical power generation. Drought is causing water to evaporate at levels beyond what is reported in the mainstream media. Why would the government issue ‘Gag Orders’ on reporters if there were nothing to hide? Climate engineering may be one of the new tools to fight future wars and control the population. Brothers and Sisters, The Progressive Watchman does not want you be unaware. Just know, I am obligated as The Progressive Watchman on the wall to reveal the godlessness and wickedness of those who suppress the truth to the peeps for their own selfish gain with their darkened hearts who worship and serve the beast. One cannot stick your head in the sand like an Ostrich as the Category 7 cyclone waves will continue to get and bigger as many will be swept out to sea. Watch this is happening in real time, what will you do? Will you let the cares of this world destroy your spiritual and fleshly eyesight? It only gets wilder from here as things spiral rapidly out of control. Again, can dry bones be brought back to life, only time will tell?

There was also a study by the University of Colorado Boulder published on “One Earth” cites water scarcity as the top threat to food security in the next 20 years. “Multiple events occurring at the same time compound the problem,” the study noted, citing droughts, floods, heat waves, pest outbreaks, diseases, and financial and political conflicts”.

Laziness

www.elitenewsdallas.com Debra’s Bits & Pieces

1. Focus on Your True Identity Do not allow what you do to become who you are. Your identity comes from your Creator, and He did not create you as a lazy human being. God created you to be fruitful and productive. He created you to be a blessing. This is the truth about you. If you have developed lazy habits, you are actually operating outside of the way you were designed! When you begin to think and operate the way God designed you, you will actually be so much happier and fulfilled. Satan is the one who constantly tells you that you are lazy. He knows that if he can get you to believe this lie, you will become this way. The Bible says that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7 NKJV If the enemy has sold you the lie that you are a lazy person, you may have linked arms with this lie and made it a part of who you are. If you accept it as truth about yourself, you will experience it in your life. This only reinforces the lie. Only the One who made you can tell you how you are Rejectmade. the lie that just because you have adopted lazy habits it is who you are. Refuse to agree with this identity. You are who God says you are – a person created to be productive and fruitful.

3. Take Authority Over Your Emotions

Laziness is simply a bad habit produced by a mindset.

Most people think laziness is a physical problem, and it definitely can be. But most of the time, laziness comes from a wrong mindset that leads to bad habits. If we can change our mindset, then we can change our laziness problem. The physical body is capable of much more than you think. I catch myself all the time thinking “I’m so tired”, but in reality, I am not actually tired. I am just caught in lazy habits. Where does laziness come from and does the Bible give us any help in overcoming it? Absolutely. The Bible has solutions for every area of life. Here are five ways to overcome laziness according to the Bible:

If you have developed a mindset that says, “I’m lazy”, or “I’m disorganized”, or “I’m not very ambitious”, the first step is to realize that just because you’ve thought that way for so long doesn’t make it truth. It might feel like the truth to you, but it is not. How you think will determine how you feel, and how you feel plays a major part in influencing the choices you Ifmake.you are thinking negative all the time, it will zap your energy. Hopeful, inspired thoughts will give you energy and peace. Start putting into practice what the Bible tells us about how to think, and you will see your energy level

Maybe you feel tired, or overwhelmed, or defeated, so you choose to watch TV instead of doing what you know needs to be done. The moment you feel that emotion, you can take authority over it. Jesus has given us authority over our emotions. You can speak directly to your emotions. For example, if you feel overwhelmed, you can say aloud “feeling of overwhelm, I take authority over you in the Name of Jesus. You leave me right now. I am not overwhelmed”. As you begin to take authority over your emotions, you will choose different actions and your thoughts will begin to line up with the change.
