Personal space is valuable, and most people will become irritated if another person is standing within their bubble. While it’s always been an unspoken rule to give people around your room, this pet peeve became amplified in 2021, ooh especially in the grocery store.

Beale Street was created in 1841 by entrepreneur and developer Robertson Topp who named it after a forgotten military hero. The original name was Beale Avenue. Its western end primarily housed shops of merchants who traded goods with ships along the Mississippi River while the eastern part developed as an affluent suburb. In the 1860s, many black traveling musicians began performing on Beale. The first of these to call Beale Street home were the Young Men’s Brass Band who were formed by Sam Thomas in 1867. In the aftermath of the yellow fever epidemic

in 1878, Memphis businessman Robert Church bought land around Beale Street. It proved to be a good investment; Church’s Beale Street bet led to him becoming the first black millionaire in the South. After Church’s purchase, the Grand Opera House, now known as The Orpheum, was renovated, and Church Park, located at 4th and Beale, became a mecca for blues musicians of the time period as well as prominent thinkers and politicians, who gathered at the auditorium to speak to the city of Memphis. Beale Street was also the commercial district for black Memphis, housing department stores, tailoring establishments, grocery stores, funeral parlors, and its most famous newspaper, the Memphis Free Speech, edited by Ida B. Wells. It is still the home of the Tri-State Bank, the largest blackowned bank in the region.

Summer is finally coming into full swing! The sun is shining, temperatures are reaching over 100 degrees, and a dip in the pool is a daily occurrence. However, with the brightness and heat of the sun comes harmful UV rays. These rays can cause a variety of negative outcomes, including sunburns, skin

cancer, eye damage, faster aging, and even immune system weakening. Even people with dark, highly melanated skin can/will have their skin damaged by the sun if unprotected. It’s important to know how to block these rays to prevent your body from receiving the damage that they can cause. The best tip for protecting yourself from UV rays while still being able to enjoy the outdoors completely is to apply lots and lots of sunscreen. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) multiplies the amount of time that your skin is protected from UV rays. For example, if a fair-skinned person typically

gets red after 10 minutes in the sun without sunscreen, wearing SPF 30 would allow them 300 minutes of protection. Dark-skinned people produce more melanin and can have a natural skin SPF of up to 13, but experts recommend that everyone uses an SPF of 30 so it is still important to wear sunscreen regardless of your skin type.

IMPLOSIONS IN THE WORKS EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

We are starting to see the repercussions of high interest rates. See real estate market is a lagging indicator of when things are going south in a market. In the last 3 to 4 months mortgage rates have spiked from 3% to 6.5%. The market is betting on a 0.75% FED rate hike by the end of the month which will probably take mortgage rates to 8% within two weeks of the rate hike. Let’s do the math: at 3% for every $100K borrowed = $300. Then the assume a home is 300K; therefore 3% fixed rate x 300K = $900 monthly before taxes and insurance when rates were 3%. Now mortgage rates are 6.5% per 100K = $650; therefore, $650 x 3 = $1,950 then add in taxes and insurance. Here in Dallas, TX if you have good credit not including school taxes on a $300k home = $6,840 + $3,811 for homeowners’ insurance = $10,651 / 12 = $887.58 extra monthly therefore your 30 year monthly payment is $2,837.58. Now if we go to 8% that is another $450 extra which is $3,287.58. The figures I just gave out are on the low end because the average home in Dallas, TX is $457,000 and I did my figures on 300K to give y’all the numbers and how they work, therefore you can add bare minimum of $450 to just the monthly principal and

interest payment to the $1,950 which is $2400 before taxes and insurance on a $300k home. The monthly payment escalates in a $457K average home price here in Dallas, TX. Again, this is just Dallas, TX; tax and insurance rates differ wherever you live. Now let’s see what else is going on in mortgage industry implosion. Mortgage lender LoanDepot announced it would fire another 2,000 staff by the end of the year as the company downsizes “to align with rapidly changing market conditions.” The latest round of layoffs is part of the company’s plan to reduce staff to 6,500 by the end of 2022. The company, which had 11,300 employees at the end of 2021, has already cut 2,800 jobs this year, and expects to cut another 2,000 jobs to end 2022 with about 6,500 employees. Now every mortgage company is laying off. See lots of this can be laid at the feet of Uncle Joe and his sanctions because 1st law of relativity is everything stays the same until and external force is applied to it. Law # 2 is for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Then 3rd law the acceleration phase. Now we’re in some areas the 2nd law and going into the third law. “We anticipate continued challenging market conditions, with mortgage originations projected to decline by roughly half in 2022 from 2021, including an accelerated decline in the second half of 2022, followed by a further decline in 2023,” said Chief Financial Officer Patrick. The other thing is central banks can’t invent and keep refrigerated foods sections on or turn on energy or make electricity. Nor does windmills and solar help out. I bet the

The only way to stop this potential strike is for Uncle Joe to quit sucking his thumb in in the basement in the fetal position and uses his powers to intervene. DALLAS — Dallas County Democrats filed with the Public Integrity Unit of the Dallas County District Attorney against the Dallas County Republicans’ acceptance of Mark Hajdu’s false application to run for State Representative HD 114, and his wife’s Jennifer’s signature on the application, in her role as chair of the Dallas County Republican Party. At the time of filing, Mark Hajdu did not live in that district. Election fraud is a serious matter. It is inconceivable that the Hadjus—one, a Republican Precinct Chair and the other, the Republican Party Chair—did not know what voting district they lived in. Filing a false application for office constitutes tampering with a government document, under penal code 37.10(a)(1). Falsely confirming eligibility to run aids and abets that offense. Filing this fraudulent application allowed

That means that if you want to see what is going on in court, you, as a member of the public, can go sit in a courtroom and watch the activity. When the world shut down two and a half years ago, every person involved in the court process had to figure out what was next. Virtual hearings became the norm for keeping the wheels of justice turning, especially for family courts. We have had virtual hearings for years now as a result of the pandemic. Many want to get back to “normal;” going to the courthouse in person. But the genie is out of the bottle with virtual hearings. We have new ways of conducting court, running a courtroom and accessing court participants. Some think we are going to be stuck in the virtual world until eternity. Not everyone thinks so and there are pros and cons to both views. Virtual court can have interesting consequences. Folks often do not understand that court on Zoom is not the same as talking to your friends and families. When courts have virtual hearings, it is still court, you are still in a courtroom, it’s just a virtual courtroom. There is still a protocol and etiquette that participants should follow, just as though you were in-person in the courthouse. When that does not happen, we see people lying in bed, having to be told to dress in clothing suitable for court, asking folks to stop driving while in the court hearing, and giving instructions on not having people doing all sorts of activities in the background of the person on the screen. OK, you don’t have to come to the courthouse, but you do need to get out of bed. And you need to get dressed. If your hearing is scheduled while you are at work, you should schedule to take your break or lunch when the Zoom hearing starts or otherwise notify your supervisor that you chose to be at work but need to appear for court virtually.

I go to the courthouse every day. I am judge of a family district court in Dallas. I handle divorces, child custody, paternity, adoptions, child protective services and child support cases. I opened my doors as soon as I took the bench in 2021. We have open courtrooms in Texas.

Virtual hearings benefit litigants, families and children because it makes it easier for many to have real access to justice in a more convenient way. It takes into consideration the needs of the families. Research says that in cases where children are involved, parents participate more

frequently in the virtual setting. This leads to fewer termination of parental rights, more participation, fewer failures to appear for hearings and more reunification of families in child protective services cases. The public continues to have a role in the justice process. Fundamental to our system of justice is the role of juries. In certain cases, a person is entitled to a jury of their peers. There have been a few virtual jury trials and a few people advocate for those. Most jury trials, however, are going to be in person. Even so, life in court will never be like it was before. The jury I had in my courtroom a few weeks ago was part of a hybrid process. The jury and I, along with the lawyers and litigants were in the courtroom in person, but several witnesses appeared virtually. Virtual court has had better outcomes in certain cases for members of the public. Parties have found that virtual options have opened new opportunities to participate. But there are challenges. People with hearing or visual impairments have had some issues. Less than strong internet connections have caused anxiety and stress when the picture keeps going out. Long periods of time in the waiting room lead to concern that the hearing is occurring without you. People not directly involved in the court hearing, may need permission to get into the virtual realm, making it difficult to observe court proceedings. Those who are not tech savvy may have difficulties getting the technology to work. Obstacles to court communication exist by being virtual which may lead us to forget that the court is still accessible by phone or email or in person. Even with virtual options, communication by other means can be maintained. In the end, some things need to be in person. Sometimes the judge needs to put their eyes on you and sometimes you need to put your eyes on the judge. Some hearings can be more effective and efficient virtually. In deciding whether virtual or in person is best, consider not necessarily what is best for you but what is best to ensure that justice prevails. What is best for the public is to find ways to access the courthouse, even if that courthouse is a virtual one.

The Oasis FM station was the smooth Jazz station of Dallas for the 2000’s. Everyone knew about the Oasis smooth Jazz station. My husband Jas and I were ardent listeners. The Oasis Jazz radio station serving Dallas-Fort Worth. Owned and operated by Audacy never left the air waves but in a sense they are back.

was in the top ten of the rating in Dallas Fort Worth every time. As the 200’s approached things changed a little bit, the business model changed a little bit, and the ratings system changed a little bit which made it harder for the [I use it loosely] niche format to exist as a full fledged radio station. So what happened was a new format came on 107.5 it was called moving it was sweeping the country and it swept the county for about two years and disappeared so what we did at that time we moved the Oasis to 107.5 HD2. Now two years later moving wasn’t doing so well and we replaced it with a Spanish station which was called mega 107.5 and all of the 107.5 HD stations were also Spanish, so we moved the Oasis 103.7 HD2 where it is today. VBS: It always helps to get the backstory. You know that technology has created a lot of changes in just about every area of our lives today. So you are calling yourself Oasis modern music. What is modern jazz? JC: That’s a great question. At first we tried to relaunch the Oasis to make it top of mind

modern jazz. It was merely a marketing ploy. Also at that time it helped us position the radio station. We added personalities. We have three mainstream personalities on the station telling you what is playing. We figured it was time to do that. We launched a Facebook page, we call it modern jazz. We have personalities, a new name and a new effort put into people hearing the music in North Texas. VBS: You and I are talking today because you want the listening, viewing and reading public to know that the Oasis is back as the Oasis Modern Jazz. Tell us what is in-store for old and new fans? JC: Great question. Old fans will not be disappointed, all the cool stuff that the Oasis has always been is still there. VBS: Is it going to be a rehash that I can find on another station or is the Oasis going to shake up the Dallas, Fort Worth area? JC: It’s a slow process but the goal is to shake up the Dallas Fort Worth area by playing new modern artists and local Dallas artists too. We are going to support the local artists.

VBS: Jay, thanks for being my guest on the Valder Beebe Show. Tell me why or how the Oasis abruptly disappeared. What happened?

VBS: There’s a void in jazz music on the radio in Dallas Fort Worth. How are you going to find local artists?

JC: The Oasis actually began in the late 80’s, then moved to 107.5 in 1992. You hear the Oasis in every office and every business in North Texas. Very popular music at the time. Even into the years 2000’s the Oasis

Dallas Judge Certifies Juvenile as Adult in Costco Murder Case

On Friday, July 15, 2022, Judge Cheryl Shannon of the 305th Dallas County District Court officially released her ruling certifying the juvenile, Cameron Range, as an adult related to the crimes he committed on November 16, 2021, including the murder of Ali Elbanna. The family of Ali Elbanna has released the following statement: “We are incredibly grateful that

The juvenile certification hearing began last Friday, July 8, and that day, the District Attorney’s juvenile prosecution team called their witnesses and presented their side of the case, pushing for the individual to be tried as an adult. On Friday, July 15, 2022, Judge Shannon will hear the case from the defense attorney for the juvenile and will hear from their witnesses. Judge Shannon has complete discretion to decide if the individual will be certified as an adult and is expected to make her decision

and announce it on Friday at the conclusion of the hearing. The main subject of the hearing relates to the murder of Ali Elbanna, which occurred on November 16, 2021, at the Costco Business Center in Dallas on Park Lane. Mr. Elbanna was loading his groceries into his car when four individuals, including the juvenile who is the subject of the juvenile certification hearing, approached him, demanded his belongings, and shot and killed him. The four individuals were arrested, and the three adults were charged with capital murder related to the killing along with multiple counts of aggravated robbery for offenses committed earlier the same day, including one at NorthPark Mall. Some of the articles regarding the incident can be found here: NBC DFW, Fox 4, CBS, Dallas Morning News. On Friday, July 8, individuals from the Dallas County Juvenile Probation Department and the Dallas Police Department testified on the details of the incidents leading up to Mr. Elbanna’s murder and testified on the character and extensive criminal history of the juvenile. Dallas Police Department detectives testified that they believe the juvenile was involved in stealing a truck from a home in the Highland Park area on November 15, 2021, that was used to commit the crimes the following day, including the murder of Mr. Elbanna. During the hearing, the detectives showed surveillance video of the juvenile pointing a gun at a woman at NorthPark Mall and demanding her belongings

earlier the same day of the murder. They also testified regarding two other juveniles who were held up at gunpoint outside of South Oak Cliff High School by the four alleged murderers prior to the attempted armed robbery at NorthPark Mall. Lastly, they testified that the juvenile who is up for certification as an adult pointed his gun at Mr. Elbanna in the Costco parking lot, shouted “Give me everything!” and then when Mr. Elbanna said, “No,” the juvenile fatally shot him. The witness from the Dallas County Juvenile Probation Department testified to the juvenile’s character, mental state, and criminal history. They testified that he is “mentally fit” to stand trial, has little empathy and remorse for the victims of his crimes, and has been in and out of the juvenile justice system for multiple prior offenses that include drug dealing and aggravated robberies that started when he was twelve years old. They also testified that they believe he should be transferred to the adult court where the other three individuals who committed the offenses on November 16, 2021, will be tried for their alleged crimes. They testified that they do not believe the juvenile justice system can adequately serve the individual based on his criminal history in the system and the recent crimes committed. The family of Mr. Elbanna has circulated a petition calling for community support for “Justice for Ali Elbanna” and have received nearly 2,000 signatures from community

members as of the timing of this release. Additional Background Information about the Case: Two of the three adult defendants in the case who were with the juvenile to allegedly commit the murder had their bonds on the capital murder charges reduced by half after requesting the reduction. One of the three adult defendants had a no-bill by the grand jury for the capital murder charge. The presiding judge who reduced the bonds and will be the presiding judge over all three adult defendants and the juvenile should they be certified as an adult is Judge Lela Lawrence Mays of the 283rd District Court. The juvenile certification hearing that began on July 8, 2022, was previously scheduled for April 26, 2022, and was reset the day prior due to an issue with the court documents. ELM THICKET/ NORTHPARK NEIGHBORHOOD: THE RACE TO PRESERVE WHAT WE WERE, WHAT WE ARE AND WHAT WE WILL BECOME By Preserve Elm Thicket/ Northpark

Is it too late to save Elm Thicket/Northpark? The answer to this question depends on which side of the coin you pick. If you side with the builders, developers or wealthy people moving into the neighborhood, then the answer is yes. If you side with the legacy residents and traditional homeowners, then the answer is no. But is this really the correct question to ask? In the case of Elm Thicket/Northpark, the real question is “what is right?”. What’s happening to this neighborhood is the result of a bigger issue where the City of Dallas has a long history of failing to protect its minority citizens. The City has no comprehensive land use plan to guide the growth and development of its cities and counties which includes zoning regulations to mitigate and in some cases prevent these massive and expensive homes from being built in

historically black and brown communities. This land use plan minimizes the impact of gentrification and stabilizes neighborhoods to ensure affordable housing in low and middle-income areas. Since the City of Dallas has no long-term plan, its residents have been left to protect its neighborhoods through the City’s zoning process. So, that is what Elm Thicket/ Northpark is doing. It is using the zoning process to do what is right! You have the right to live where you want and shouldn’t be forced out of your home through gentrification which has been displacing Dallas’ less wealthy and poor residents by any means necessary. We all have heard the word gentrification and know that it is happening all over Dallas. The use of this word is so commonplace that people just accept it. But the bottom line is that the process of gentrification is wrong and it’s powerful as it causes low and middle-income neighborhoods to no longer be affordable and its historically black and brown residents are forced to move to a less desirable area or out of the City altogether. In the case of Elm Thicket/ Northpark, they are not only facing gentrification, but racist gentrification. The white residents that have moved in mock the traditional homes and call them slums. They claim the neighborhood is crime and drug-ridden and needs to be cleaned up. They believe the neighborhood with its proximity to premium shopping, restaurants, Love Field Airport and other

businesses should only be occupied by the wealthy. They don’t want to live amongst the black and brown legacy homeowners, they just want them gone and have stated they’re going to run its residents out of their homes. So the white residents have come together to fight any zoning regulations. If the builders are allowed to build homes as large and as high as they want, what happens to the legacy residents and where do they go? Who moves in when the new homes are selling for $1.2M and higher? That is not affordable housing for low and middle income families. The legacy residents of Elm Thicket/Northpark are fighting for what is right by any means necessary. As gentrification is not limited to this one neighborhood, it’s a fight where we all need to be engaged. If the wealthy and more affluent white citizens

of Dallas, which is less than 25% of Dallas’ population, start telling you where you can live…what’s next? This is a fight for our livelihood and we should all care because if gentrification hasn’t breached your neighborhood yet, it’ll be knocking on your door soon unless we stand up and stand together to say our neighborhoods matter, that we decide where we want to live and the City should support and protect us. Continue to be a part of this story and help pave the future as the outcome is not yet set.

You’ve likely seen numerous headlines about climate change on websites and TV lately, but you may be wondering what factors such as rising sea levels and warmer temperatures mean for you now. Believe it or not, environmental changes like these and others have direct and indirect effects on your health. “Climate change is no longer just a problem for polar bears,” says Surili Sutaria Patel, a climate and health equity advocate and vice president at the Metropolitan Group, a social change agency in Washington, DC. “It’s not a problem of the future. It’s harming our health and threatening our well-being as we know it today, and some communities are bearing the brunt of it.” When the U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling on West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency in June, public health and climate change advocates

both sounded the alarm about the potential consequences. The ruling in part makes it harder for the Environmental Protection Agency to limit power plant emissions, which release harmful pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide, into the air. Those pollutants come from the burning of fossil fuels and are linked to cancer and other major health concerns. The Pan American Health Organization has called climate change “the biggest global health threat of the 21st century,” with millions of lives at stake. That’s no exaggeration: Climate change may affect human health in countless ways. Here are six of them, from experts, and what you need to know to protect yourself and your community. 1. Climbing Temperatures May Hamper Good Sleep A study published in One Earth in May 2022 found that, by 2099, rising temperatures may erode 50 to 58 hours of sleep per person each year. That’s like losing more than a week of sleep every year. “It’s harder for people to sleep in higher heat, especially those who don’t have access to cooling or ventilation,” says Patel. The effect may be particularly noticeable in cities, thanks to what is known as the urban heat island effect, which is when urban areas get hotter than suburban and rural areas. “Concrete and impervious surfaces and lack of greenery traps heat within the city limits,” Patel explains. “At nighttime, when naturally our ecosystem is set up to release heat, heat is trapped, and then in the morning compounded. All of that affects sleep.”’

The One Earth study cited research that shows that sleep loss is linked with worse cognitive function and reduced immunity to disease, as well as increased risks of injury, heart problems, and mental health issues. 2. Changing Weather Patterns May Increase the Spread of Infectious Diseases Research shows that rising temperatures and changes in rainfall can make regions more or less hospitable to disease carriers like mosquitos and ticks, which means malaria, dengue, and Lyme disease may spread into areas that have not previously been at risk, says Linda Rudolph, MD, MPH, director of the Center for Climate Change and Health at the Public Health Institute. “Warmer temperatures can also affect how quickly some pathogens grow and replicate,” Dr. Rudolph says, “for example, some of the bacteria that cause food poisoning.” Rudolph also points out that climate change can cause migration by both animals and humans, putting us into contact with diseases we may not have encountered before. “As the planet gets hotter, some animals are moving toward the poles, coming into contact for the first time with different animals, and in some cases with people,” she says. “We also know that deforestation — which is also a significant cause of climate change — is causing a loss of natural habitats and making animals move to new areas, where they might share germs with people or other animals.” 3. Air Pollution May Make It Harder to Breathe Air pollution is linked to multiple respiratory conditions. “Warmer temperatures cause more ozone pollution, or smog, that causes damage to the airways and exacerbates asthma and chronic

www.elitenewsdallas.com 6 Ways Climate Change Affects Health — and How to Protect Yourself (CONTINUED) lung diseases like emphysema and bronchitis; ozone pollution may also cause asthma,” Rudolph says. “Climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of wildfires that release huge quantities of smoke that may spread over hundreds of miles. Wildfire smoke is laden with particulate matter, which causes premature death, aggravates asthma, increases the risk of heart attacks, and has been associated with premature birth and other adverse birth outcomes.” 4. More Pollen May Worsen Allergies and Skin Diseases “Warmer temperatures also mean that plants produce more pollen, and many people who suffer from allergies are finding that their allergies are worse and the allergy season is longer,” Rudolph says. The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has reported that carbon pollution and warmer temperatures make plants produce more pollen over longer growing seasons. In fact, scientists have suggested that average pollen counts in 2040 will be more than double what they were in 2000. And a study published in Allergologie Select in 2021 found that these changes can also make eczema worse. 5. Eco-Anxiety May Erode Mental Health “Recently, we are seeing a rise in eco-anxiety, or climate anxiety, in the youth — they want to take action yet may not be old enough to have the political capital or power,” Patel says. Surviving climate disasters has lasting effects on mental health, too. A study published in Psychiatric Quarterly in 2020 showed that

disasters made worse by climate change can lead to an increase in alcohol use, anxiety, anger, and post-traumatic stress disorder. 6. Higher Temps Can Compound Chronic Conditions “Extreme heat makes it really difficult to regulate your body, which affects people with cardiovascular disease but also related health issues, like high blood pressure and high cholesterol,” Patel says. “It makes those folks a little bit more vulnerable to dehydration, heat stroke, and heat stress.” Climate change has long been linked to an increased risk of cancer, but it can also worsen cancer outcomes. An increase in natural disasters can release carcinogenic material into communities, overwhelm healthcare providers, and make it harder to get care, resulting in deaths, according to an article published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention in 2020. The ones hit hardest by climate change, Patel says, tend to be children, pregnant women, people in low-wealth communities, and populations that are more likely to have chronic health conditions, such as older adults. “Access to hospitals, schools, and transportation systems could be life or death for some. And housing quality plays a huge role in one’s ability to stay cool, stay safe from flooding, and access mold remediation.” Older homes with lead pipes are at risk because the lead is more concentrated in drinking water on extremely hot days. Combating climate change can feel overwhelming, but there are steps you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones. Experts recommend the following: Increase your health literacy. “It’s super important to understand

your health and the health of your family, so that you can ask your doctor questions about the role climate change plays in your well-being,” Patel says. Talk to your doctor about what types of alerts or weather events you should be looking out for when it comes to heat, stress interactions with medications, or your children’s exposures to heat, cold, mold, and allergens. Build an emergency supply kit. This is especially important if you you live in an area that’s prone to flooding, hurricanes, or wildfires. Ready.gov has tips on what you’ll need, based on your location and the needs of your family members. And don’t forget emergency supplies for pets! Eat less meat. Research published in Advances in Nutrition in 2020 found that diets low in meat and high in fruits and vegetables were linked with less greenhouse gas emissions and lower risks of chronic diseases, thereby reducing people’s vulnerability in high temperatures. Reduce the amount of single-use plastics in your life. The Natural Resources Defense Council says that small individual choices can add up, and it has tips on making easy switches, such as carrying grocery totes and a reusable water bottle, buying in bulk, and cooking more at home. Pay attention to heat warnings, and find ways to stay cool. “Even a few hours a day of airconditioning can reduce the risk of heat illness,” Rudolph says. “If you have air-conditioning, make sure it is working, or find out where you can go that will have air-conditioning, like a shopping mall, public library, or cooling shelter or community resilience hub. Make sure you check on your friends during a heat wave, and ask that they check on you.” Keeping your sleep space cool

Vote to protect the climate and your health. “It’s an election year for local elections, and those officials wield way more power — especially after the Supreme Court ruling — on local decisions that will affect your health directly: your parks, your streets, your schools, your taxes,” Patel says. “Go to your local elections board to understand

where candidates on your local ticket stand on climate. You will see who’s thinking about climate and who’s not. You will see how money for your neighborhood safety is being discussed.” Get educated about the issues and candidates, find your polling place, and get registered to vote. Then talk to friends and family members, help them get registered and mobilized, and offer them a ride to cast their ballot, if needed.
