Baker Bowl is the popular name of the famous baseball park that was located within several streets (N. Broad Street, W. Huntingdon Street, N. 15th St. and W. Lehigh Ave.) in Philadelphia, Pa. The Base Ball Park opened in 1887, it accommodated 12,500 fans, and featured such ball park construction innovations as pavilion seating for customers and brick exterior walls instead of wood. Located at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue. Most notably, when the Phillies were out of town during baseball season, the Hilldale Daisies of the Negro League rented the
park from the early 1920s through the 1930s. Between 1924-1926, Negro League World Series games were played here. Players from high school baseball teams, the American Legion, and fire fighter and police leagues also used the Baker Bowl. The very first Negro Leagues fall classic was between the Kansas City Monarchs (55–22) and the Hilldale Daisies (47–23). This was the first official championship in Negro leagues baseball. Before 1924, there were some post-season series but never anything recognized throughout the Negro National League and Eastern Colored League.

7 Myths About Arthritis
Arthritis is one of the more common diseases in the United States, affecting nearly 60 million people in the US alone. However, despite how many people it affects, many people still believe some common misconceptions
about arthritis. In this article, we will discuss some of these misconceptions, along with the truths behind them. Myth 1: Arthritis is just minor joint aches and pains. While some people do only experience minor joint pains, this myth ignores more serious cases of arthritis that cause chronic pain for the people they affect. This also doesn’t take into account the various types of arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common and is normally thought of when you say arthritis, causing joint pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation. There are also, however,
more serious conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, in which the body has an autoimmune attack against itself and destroys connective tissue especially in the joints. Myth 2: Only older people can get arthritis. Osteoarthritis is more common in older adults, as around 50% of adults over 65 are diagnosed with arthritis. However, about 30% of people 4564 and 7% of people 1844 were also diagnosed with arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis especially presents early, in patients 20-40, but osteoarthritis can also present early in a condition called juvenile arthritis. Myth 3: Arthritis is caused

by a cold, wet climate. Some people believe that a cold, wet climate causes arthritis and that moving to a warmer place can cure their condition. While this is not true, warmth can relieve some symptoms of arthritis, in the same way that your body relaxes when taking a hot shower or bath. Myth 4: After receiving a diagnosis of arthritis, there is nothing you can do. While there is no known universal cure for arthritis, there are certain medications that can slow the progression of the disease. In addition, lifestyle changes such as maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking, eating healthy, and getting enough sleep can all slow the

progression of arthritis. Myth 5: Popping your knuckles can cause arthritis. According to Harvard studies, knuckle popping showed no increased correlation with arthritis. The “pop” of a knuckle crack comes from bubbles bursting in the fluid between your joints, which causes slight vibrations in your joints but has not been shown to cause arthritis. The Harvard studies did show, however, that the vibrations caused by the pops can cause slight hand inflammation or reduced grip strength. There is a lot erroneous information in the atmosphere about oil companies being greedy. Over the holiday I had a huge discussion about this, so let me set things straight. Many politricksters who live in a bubble are quick to blame and hype up the narrative that oil companies are greedy, but the market is much more complicated than that. While oil companies have seen windfall profits thanks to the increase in oil prices, they are not the ones that are driving prices higher. It is true that oil companies benefit from actions that increase the price of oil. Over the past couple of years, OPEC has taken actions that have increased the price of oil. Who is OPEC: is an organization made up of 23 countries from the Middle East, Africa and South America. The 23 nations that are a members of OPEC produce about half of the world’s oil and own over 81.5% of the world’s oil reserves. Who is OPEC and why do they matter? OPEC stands for Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, and it’s estimated OPEC’s accounts for more than half of internationally traded crude oil; and it trades in US Dollars the reserve currency of the world which our country the USA gets a piece of every transaction kind of like using a VISA card. Back in 2020 when Chucky the Planned-Demic hit the scene oil dipped negative $40 a barrel for almost two months, a roll of toilet paper sold for more than a barrel of oil. Oil companies couldn’t even give oil away. Now the world was teetering on insolvency because the whole world was shut down, there was no demand but plenty of supply. Gradually things turned around as the world started to open back up. The only thing was the supply chains were in shambles and is still going on today and no end
in sight. Supply and supply chain shortages are our real driver of the price and inflation. Demand is high but its not enough supply thus we have high prices. Let’s also note that in Uncle Joe’s first day in office he signed an executive order to shut down the XL Pipeline from Canada which started the uptrend in oil and gas prices here in the USA.I even posted a time frame chart in earlier writings. Next, we have Russia going into Ukraine, which is another disruption in supply, then Uncle Joe and Western Countries impose sanctions on Russia which really escalates the price. In addition, the Eurozone gets 45% of their energy from Russia then European leaders slows down the Northstream 1 pipeline that supply’s Europe with energy further disrupting supplies, in addition Northstream 2 was completed into Europe but Uncle Joe told European leaders do not sign a contract with Russia to deliver needed oil and gas to them and they listened; therefore more higher prices, in addition oil and gas is sold in US dollars, then the sanctions take all of Russia’s US dollars, confiscate their bank accounts but expect Russia to give them energy for free. REALLY! So now we have a real problem:HIGH DEMAND + HARDLY NO supply = SKY HIGH PRICES and we the peeps in all countries are collateral damage. Here in the USA, oil producers benefitted from the rise in oil prices following Russia’s invasion, and refiners benefitted from the rise in product prices. ExxonMobil owns both oil production and refinery operations, and they benefitted from these price rises as well as other energy companies. Let’s break things down further: ExxonMobil doesn’t even produce 3% of the world’s oil. Oil companies produce very little of the oil we use, most of it is produced by sovereign nations (Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE,
etc.…) who have far greater control over the price than any company does. Back in the 50’s, the reverse was true. Exxon is a price taker, not a price maker, therefore ExxonMobil is not a market maker, they are just passing along costs.It’s perfectly legitimate to discuss how ExxonMobil benefitted from the OPEC production cuts and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It is a fact that the U.S. energy industry has benefitted, and that is at the expense of U.S. consumers. I understand why people are angry about this, but their anger is misdirected. Think about it. Do you think ExxonMobil was just being generous in 2020, and decided to sell oil for under $20 a barrel at a loss? And in 2022 they got really greedy and decided to sell it for over $100 a barrel? If you really want to get mad get mad at Chucky the PlannedDemic which shut off supply chains and production, Uncle Joe shutting off pipelines from Canada who has plenty of oil and gas but he won’t take it because of the green agenda. The Dept of Energy that won’t loosen up regulations and give drilling permits; Get mad at the green energy movement which is a whole another deal, and really get mad at sanctions, which is really the big driver of prices. Here’s something else to think about: have a product the world wants; provide the service and support to keep that product flowing; have the skills to find more product = profit. In the meantime, Russia making record profits selling less oil. There’s maybe one other big price shot driver and that is if Uncle Joe and the G7 start price controls:Russia and OPEC will quit delivering oil and gas and the price goes anywhere from $195 to $380 a barrel and Europe freezes to death, the whole world economies shut down and probably WW3. In addition, if Russia unlocks its Arctic reserves and opens the northern sea route; a big part of Asia will want that oil and gas. A Russian, Chinese partnership in Eurasia will usher in a golden era as the clowns of the West become like in Laurel & Hardy skit. Basically, what we are looking at is “down goes Frazier” alias The US Dollar, the USA, Eurozone, Japan maybe

Servings: 8 Calories: 377 kcal Ingredients • 7 ounce packet cornbread mix • ½ cup milk • 1 large egg • 1 pound ground beef • 3 Tablespoons taco seasoning (or 1 packet) • 1/3 cup water • 11 ounce can Mexicorn drained • 10 ounce can Rotel drained • 2 cups sour cream • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend (divided use) • 1/2 cup chopped green onions OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: • Shredded lettuce, sliced olives, diced tomatoes,

taco sauce Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350f degrees. Spray a 9” x 9” (or 2 ½ quart) baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. 2. Combine cornbread mix with milk and egg. Stir well. 3. Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for about 15 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, cook and crumble ground beef until no longer pink, drain excess grease. 5. Then add in taco seasoning and ⅓ cup water and stir to combine. 6. Then add in Mexicorn and Rotel. Stir well and simmer for a couple of

In and Out on the Town with Elite News My good friend, some may call her the cake lady, Sister Thelma Ellis, on (Thursday) June 16 at 7pm, she was invited by Deacon Charles Ko, to share her miracle Testimony with a class at New Song Korean Church, in Carrollton, Tx. She said that everyone was so kind, and as she shared her story, Deacon Ko interpreted the Service. I was blessed with a wonderful dinner. She remembered, a few months after coming out of her coma, getting out of the hospital, the Spirit of the Lord, spoke to her, and said, “I’m sending you to other Nation’s of People’s, it was a wonderful experience.” “Please continue to pray for me. “Its like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from going under.” (Grand Master Flash & the Fabulous Five) Those are the words to a song from back in the day; a song whose words are as appropriate now as then. It reflects what some of us are going through. Covid has attacked our families and seems to continue to be hunting for each of us.
Food and gas prices are on a roller coaster, as is the stock market. Young parents cannot find formula to feed their babies. We feel that we are not safe at church, at school, in our cars or at home. And those are just the societal ills, saying nothing about our own personal issues with family conflicts, job insecurity and isolation. “Don’t-push me, cause-I’mclose-to-the-edge, I’m-tryin’, not-to lose-my-head, uh huh, huh huh.” Fear and anxiety are natural when we live in an environment with constant turmoil and upheaval. Watching the news can trigger bouts of sadness. And this is just what happens to adults. For youth, the thought of going to school, staying home, not seeing their friends, facing pressures brought on by social media are leading to the point where one in five youth are experiencing a mental health episode or disorder. When we have these problems where can we find the help we need? I am a judge of a family district court. I am Judge Rhonda. I see people who are dealing with some of the most emotionally draining times they will ever see. The breakup of their family, the draining of their finances, the upheaval of their children. They often do not know where to turn or how to make life better. When they get to court, they may be looking

I view my role at the court as being a bridge that helps families find the help they are seeking. I often see families at their emotional worst. Their lives hang in the balance. Their future is uncertain. I am not always successful at getting them to learn how to resolve their issue, but i can help answer the question, “What can we do?” There are tools we can use. Referring people to professionals often helps. Family court uses many different types of mental health professionals to aid families, Marriage counselors help those attempting to heal breaking relationships and improve marriages. Secular and pastoral resources provide comfort to many going through the turmoil of a divorce. Working with a counselor can be a rewarding exercise in understanding what is happening and how you can come out safely on the other side of adversity. But some of us have a stigma about getting help from a counselor, a therapist, a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Some of us are reluctant to talk to our religious leader about our personal lives. Reluctance to counseling can be a result of cultural norms. This is in spite of our
history of knowing that we all have had family members who were depressed, were moody, had friends who were wrapped too tight, or fast to anger, and could benefit from health care professionals. How life could have been different if we had resources instead of providing only the limited knowledge we had. Our public mental health system has not changed much in thirty years. Long lines at the mental health clinic and the stigma of being a patient discourage many from seeking that resource. “I am not crazy,” is often the response in circles where getting help is frowned upon. The difficult issues we face in today’s times and the situations that we encounter that are becoming a part of our daily lives, are causing anxiety and depression we never imagined we would face. So, what do we do? Eating disorders, changed sleeping pattens and inability to face or continue daily activities could be a sign that having a mental health check-up could be beneficial. In the workplace mindfulness and wellness are drilled into weekly emails. Companies provide wellness options and encourage us with tips on how to destress. “Take care of yourself” may be a mantra, but it needs to be ingrained in each of us and it has become easier to do this anonymously with the normalization of telehealth, where we can call for help without anyone knowing.
Because I see the need, I have become informed of several resources. Every resource is different and what may be good for some may not be as beneficial for others, which means that each person must research the benefits of each resource for themselves. 1-800-273 TALK (8255) leads to a 24-hour crisis center and serves as a suicide prevention hotline. Child and Family Guidance Centers can be called by parents who are looking for help for their children. Texas 211 is a referral service that can be called for a variety of health services including mental health services. Low or reduced cost counseling can be found at Openpathcollective.org. which also offers courses in wellness. Wellness videos and courses are increasingly popular on the internet although not everything on the internet is useful. This is why you must research what works best for you. Locating a mental health professional can be challenging, but sometimes the first place to look is with your own insurance company. If you are with someone that is having a mental health issue, listen and validate, but resist to urge to fix or give advice as the advice you give may not be helpful and may be harmful. Encouraging people to get help can be successful if you are willing to tell them that you were willing to get help for your own needs. I knew a woman whose father

had a stroke. A few months later her sister died the day she was giving a party for her best friend. Two months after that her dad died. Three weeks after burying him she was facing a life-threatening illness and could not work for six months. Those could be sad days. She did recover physically. Her mental recovery was aided by the help of a counselor. Her issues were situational and recoverable. She recovered fully and she went on to do

great things and help many children and families. Do not turn down the chance to be great and happy. I can attest to the benefit of getting this type of help, because that woman who recovered from adversity was me.
