The city of Dallas is suffering from poor hiring, poor planning, poor execution, and poor oversight! Do you want to know why? One name CONSISTANTLY SURFACES, when you look at the overall effect on the developments in the southern sector(s) of Dallas, and that person is none other than RAQUEL FAVELA, it appears that this woman has been given carte blache with regards to Who and How the City conducts business, She has made the City of Dallas her personal POT of deals and developments all the while using her hired / relationships to dictate the Developments in Dallas. Raquel Favela, it appears has wreaked havoc on the city of Dallas and minority City Developers by using her former position as Chief of Economic Development and Neighborhood Services to remove all the ability for the Productive and above board , proven BLACK DEVELOPERS to continue fulfilling a obligation and commitment in Districts 4-7 that had initially been RED LINED and BLIGHTED by other developers and the City. Now they have been put on hold, put on hold, with scurrilous policies and provisions enacted by the likes of RAQUEL FAVELA, SO for the record WHO IS is RAQUEL FAVELA ? she was the manager for the San Antonio Housing Department, then she was the head of the national Development Council NDC office in San Antonio, when she was hired by the city of Dallas Economic Development and Neighborhood services, was

she still running the office of NDC (an obvious conflict of Interest and double dipping serving in both positions) serving as Chief of Staff of the Dallas Housing Department for a conveniently suspicious period of 14 months count that, 14 Reckless, Careless, Derelict, Disastrous, and months then she resigned but was able to secure a $3000000 grant for her employer National Development Council (NDC),as she made a rather convenient hasty and exit back to NDC after underwriting development project for the city of Dallas Housing and Economic Development Department (benefiting NDC) her tenure with the City of Dallas was peculiar in its existence, as she was employed April / 2017 resigned September 2018, do you find that strange, and now currently she’s right back working for NDC, and open up office in Dallas as well as San Antonio. Let me throw you one more cavoite to this strange and personally profitable a relationship (with the City of Dallas) she now does the training programs for the Community development corporations that she personally wrote out of effectiveness, by now training these same agencies on how to apply for Grants, and do things and business with the city of Dallas. What is wrong with this PICTURE / RELATIONSHIP? mind you these are the same companies that have done developments in areas that were blighted, and that had a storied history red lining and blight. The daring CDC’s made these developments profitable and

appealing. The community is now suffering and all of a sudden you have Raquel Favela, deciding who gets contracts, here is another note to this strange relationship is Raquel Favela relationship with D magazine additionally, She Wrote affordable housing policies that directly and adversely affects minority District district(s) 4 and 7, and yet NO ONE, has brought this individual to surface, or in question on the conflicted relationship with the CITY of Dallas, and how she navigates with the city of Dallas and NDC. There seems to be a conflict of interest in my opinion and Opinion, what is the city of Dallas doing about this and why hasn’t this been addressed

WILLIS JOHNSON, DA CROONER, INDUCTED IN RADIO HALL OF FAME By: Sherelyn Roberts

Willis Johnson, veteran broadcaster at KKDA-AM joined 20 people who were inducted in the 2019 Texas Radio Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 2 at the Texas Museum of Broadcasting in Kilgore. “When you take a look at that man’s track record, as a Dallas-Fort Worth radio entertainer and more importantly the man’s community outreach, its immeasurable,” said Josh Holstead, Texas Radio Hall of Fame owner and operations manager.

“It was a special day for me to be inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and I am so grateful for my family to be with me as well as Mayor Mike Ranwlings, Developer Jack Matthews and Linda/Mitch Hart. It’s quite an honor,” said Johnson.

He was program director, executive producer and on-air personality during his career and won numerous broadcast awards including the Silver Beaver Award, the Juanita Craft NAACP Award and the Urban League of Greater Dallas President’s Award.

Congratulations and accolades from friends and former listeners continue to flood Johnson’s social media. “Congratulations to a wonderful civic leader,” said Pete Schenkel was one of many acknowledgements.
