You can also visit the beautiful coconut plantations (base of the Thai cuisine), and the Wat Kunaram Samui Thailan temple, which houses inside a dome of glass, the mummified monk Luong Pordaeng, who died in 1973 meditating, and remains in the same position in which was found.

We did one of the most expected and beautiful walks, a visit to the Baang Chang Elephant Park, an elephant sanctuary that rescues animals victims of ill-treatment and slave labor.

Visitamos Wat Pho, estátua do Buda reclinada, que ocupa toda a extensão do templo, coberto com folhas de ouro. Conhecemos também o Salão do Trono Ananta Samakhom, dentro do Palácio de Dusit, em Bangkok, encomendado pelo rei Chulalongkorn em 1908. O lugar é surreal, com histórias retratadas através de pinturas e esculturas em madeira Teca.

Fizemos um passeio até a casa de Jim Tomphson um americano expatriado, que não permitiu o declínio da seda tailandesa nos anos 40, confiante de que as cores, brilho e a qualidade desta atrairiam muito interesse no exterior.

The place is surreal, with stories depicted through paintings and carvings in Teak wood.

We took a stroll to Jim Tomphson’s house, home of an expatriate American, did not allow Thai silk decline in the 1940s, confident that the colors, brightness and quality of this would attract interest from abroad.

We dined at the wonderful Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. On the occasion, we celebrated the birthday of Thailand’s Ambassador to Brazil Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol. We also visit Kisara, Japanese cuisine and, for cocktails, the Diplomat Bar. For more than 140 years, travelers have followed the Chao Phraya River to stay in the legendary Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, a luxurious five-star hotel, considered one of the best hotels in Asia and the world, and it lives up to the title. On a night stroll, we headed to the Sirocco Sky Bar – backgounrd for movie “Hangover 2” on the 64th floor of Lebua Hotels & Resorts – it has a breathtaking view in 360º of this extremely bright city, with drinks and excellent gastronomy.
