It’s 2024, and North County continues to evolve in to an area with a unique identity very different from San Diego proper. The communities of North County have over 1.2 million residents collectively and represent about one third of the total economy of San Diego. As we venture in to the future together, I urge each of you to realize the power you have as consumers. We vote with our dollars, and where we shop makes a difference. Through concious consumerism we literally shape the future by supporting local businesses that share our values and ensuring they last in to the future.
With your participation The Best of North County contest will grow and mature over time. This is our second year hosting this contest and we learned that we depend on readers like you to nominate and vote for your favorite places to shop, eat, learn, rest, repair, heal and play. There are excellent businesses that did not make the pages of this magazine because they either weren’t nominated or didn’t receive enough votes and we call on you to make sure that doesn’t happen again. More engagment from readers like you will make it easier for us to identify and shine our spotlight on the best businesses in the area. Please remember to nominate and vote for your favorite businesses when our 2025 contest opens up in January.
Our vision is to create some healthy competition within the business community so that the best of the best will rise to the top to be showcased in this annual magazine.
