In a nutshell it’s, “To inform, engage, and entertain as many people as possible, as often as possible, and on all possible platforms.”
The truth is, MyFM isn’t really a radio station anymore per se. We’re a full-service multi-media company that happens to operate a radio station too. Our goal is to produce the most engaging and compelling content possible and push it out to our listeners, fans and followers where they want to receive it. It may be over our airwaves, on our website, on their phone, in their e-mail inbox, or any future technologies.
The truth is I think most people thought I was crazy, but I believed people were sick and tired of toxic politics and pandemic talk. I thought it was time to have some fun again and inject some serious positivity back into our community. More than anything we wanted to shine a spotlight on the incredible local businesses who have endured, innovated and found new and better ways to serve their customers and clients during the toughest economic period in almost 100 years. I think we achieved that.
The numbers are simply overwhelming and speak for themselves! In only our second year we had over 1,300 local businesses nominated in 255 different categories, and then in only 2 weeks we had over 450,000 votes cast. I expected success, but nothing like this. I was blown away and the sky is the limit now!
I don’t know if I learned anything new or if the amazing results just reaffirmed what I already thought, which was that we live in the best region in the state because we’re not quite Boston, not quite Worcester and not quite Providence. We have easy access to those three wonderful cities, but as the MyFM Quest for the Best initiative has shown, everything we truly need or want is right here “In the Heart of It All” where we all choose to live, work and play.
Well, without our listeners, fans and followers nothing happens, but it’s our clients who really make it possible for us to take risks and strive to be better at what we do. All that being said, I have to thank and tip my cap to the incredible staff here at MyFM. We’re a small organization, but everyone puts all their heart and soul into what we do, and as far as the MyFM Quest for the Best initiative, each and every staff member went above and beyond to make it such a remarkable success.
I think the MyFM Quest for the Best contest really helped us redefine our market. It’s such a diverse region teeming with unique shopping locales, premier restaurants & entertainment, and every possible business or service you could imagine.
