The John A Lefdahl Funeral Home opened its doors in April of 1999.

Prior to building, much thought was given to its location. We wanted a peaceful environment with grass and trees, ample parking, and easy entry and exit. Unable to find that setting in the borough, we choose our current location. Closer to many towns on the out skirts of Indiana and just outside the borough.

We began with a smaller structure not knowing if would succeed and began the first year with one service a month, providing excellent service and conservative pricing.

We steadily grew and in 2004 expanded, adding on an additional wing with Indiana’s only funeral chapel. A chapel with seven foot stain glass windows and pew seating, thus doubling our size to 6,000 square feet.

In 2005, we began our monument sales and also performing pet cremation. By November of 2014 we constructed our own onsite pet crematory. Another project was completed in 2021 when we built a six bay garage and a large monument display area housing a variety of monuments of different sizes shapes and colors.

Currently we are in the process of installing an onsite human crematory with projection of completion to be the spring or summer of 2023.

We provide service to all religious affiliations. Our services include visitation, cremation, monument sales, pet cremation and funeral pre-planning. We strive to maintain a professional yet warm and friendly relationship with the families we serve and to also provide services at a fair and reasonable fee.

Yellow Creek Campground

Yellow Creek Campground is a private, family-owned campground located 12 miles east of Indiana, PA on Route 422. It was purchased by Don and Lorna Vite in August of 2009. Their mission was to provide an enjoyable and relaxing camping experience. This wooded campground is bordered on the west by Big Yellow Creek, a stocked trout stream. This stream is the main source of water for the 720 acre lake at Yellow Creek State Park.

All sites include electric and water hook-ups, as well as a fire ring and picnic table. Five cabins are available for overnight camping. The heated bathhouse offers restroom and shower facilities.
