PURILAM is a laminate composed of layers of cellulose impregnated with thermosetting resin and then subjected to high pressure and temperature. The surface layer consists of a sheet of decorative paper impregnated with melamine resin which produces a visually pleasing finish while improving the mechanical properties of the laminate. The rear side is treated to ensure perfect adhesion onto any substrate. This range of plastic laminate products is subdivided into two main families, manufactured with differing processes: HPL and CPL. This laminate appears to be the ideal partner for the cruise design industry, given its IMO MED certification. This marine feature reflects PURILAM’s concern for safety and the environment, essential factors for yachts, ships and ferries sailing under the IMO/MED or MCA.
In addition to this fundamental marine certification, PURILAM is also Class A+ Volatile Organic Compounds Emissions, Phenolfree and FSC® certified. Moreover, it is antistatic, anti-dust and resistant to abrasion, stains and even boiling water. All these characteristics make it suitable for many environments, including cruises.
