Where’s Herbie?
Laura: Luke, what are you doing?
Luke: I’m looking for Herbie. I can’t find him!
Laura: Herbie loves hiding. Look in the drawers of the bedside table.
Luke: He isn’t there.
Laura: What about in the chest of drawers?
Luke: I can see socks, pants and other clothes, but Herbie isn’t there.
Laura: Look behind the curtains.
Luke: Coco the cat is behind the curtains.
Laura: He is under the bed or sleeping on the duvet or under the blanket.
Luke: No, he isn’t. I looked under the pillow too.
Laura: I’ll look on the shelf… No, he’s not there!
Luke: I’m looking in the wardrobe… No, he’s not in here.
Laura: Hamsters are very small and difficult to find. Luke: That’s true. Let’s ask Mum. Maybe he’s in the pocket of her dressing gown.
Laura: He’s not in the pocket of Mum’s dressing gown. Luke: Maybe he’s in the pocket of Dad’s dressing gown.
Laura: No, he’s not there!
Luke: Well, where is he?
Laura: Look! He’s in the kitchen. He’s eating the breakfast cereal! Luke: He’s a very greedy hamster!
A good breakfast
Laura: Good morning, Mum! Is breakfast ready?
Lily (Mum): Yes, but let’s wait for Dad and Luke. Dad is in the bathroom; he’s shaving with his razor.
Laura: Where’s Luke?
Lily (Mum): He’s in the bathroom too. He’s brushing his teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Laura: Is Luke having a bath too?
Lily (Mum): Yes, he’s using the shower gel and shampoo.
Laura: Dad is going into the bedroom to get dressed, right?
Lily (Mum): Yes, of course. Why are you asking all these questions?
Laura: Because I’m hungry! Let’s eat! I’m having bread and jam, then biscuits and yoghurt.
Lily (Mum): Okay, let’s eat! I’m having eggs, fresh orange juice and a cup of coffee!
A new T-shirt
Alex (Dad): Luke, what are you wearing?
Luke: My new T-shirt and shorts.
Alex (Dad): You can’t wear shorts. It’s cold outside. Wear a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.
Luke: I’ll wear my jeans but not a sweatshirt.
Alex (Dad): Well, what about a jumper and a shirt?
Luke: No, I’m not wearing a jumper and a shirt!
Alex (Dad): Luke! Your sister is ready. She’s wearing leggings and a dress!
Luke: I’ll wear my T-shirt with your jacket.
Alex (Dad): My jacket? Why not your sweatshirt or a jumper?
Luke: Because the T-shirt is new, and I want to show it to everyone!
