Read a text about the koala. Are the sentences (1-8) true, false or not given? Put a cross (X) in the correct box.
The koala lives only in Australia and it’s the symbol of that continent.
Koalas are an important part of the forest food chain. They are prey for big carnivores and their droppings are food for insects and small rodents.
Koalas live on eucalyptus trees where they find shelter and food. One koala eats up to one kilo of leaves a day and it needs about one hundred trees to survive.
Because of deforestation, koalas spend much more time on the ground to move from one tree to another.
Sometimes they cross roads and they are often hit by vehicles or attacked by dogs and owls.
