Malala said, ‘I tell my story not because it is unique but because it is the story of many girls’.

My name is Gustavo. and I live in Madrid. I have been drawing all my life, ever since I was a child as I didn’t have a TV. I enjoy most of all drawing comic strips and picturing myself and my kids in the illustrations that I create.
This is the story, told through the voice of a young girl from Pakistan, of Malala, a girl from Swat Valley who is famous because she stood up for the right of girls to go to school. When the Taliban came to her valley, they said people mustn’t listen to music, women must wear burqas and girls mustn’t go to school. Malala wrote blogs and spoke on the radio and television about her dream and the dream of her friends to go to school. When she was just 15 years old, the Taliban shot her, but she didn’t die. Today, Malala still works to help girls go to school around the world.
