THE GREAT GAME OF NUMBERS

WHAT IS IT?

The Great Game of Numbers is an enjoyable and useful game to practise cardinal and ordinal numbers.

Language Aims

The game allows students to learn, memorise and practise English cardinal and ordinal numbers in a fun and engaging way.

Contents

The game includes 132 cards: 100 cards with cardinal numbers from 1 to 100, 20 cards with numbers from 0 to 100, 000 (hundreds and thousands), 12 cards with ordinal numbers from 1st to 12th. It also includes 36 boards for playing different versions of bingo.

Distance Learning

Learning to pronounce and to write numbers won’t be a problem anymore even during online classes and courses. The cards, randomly picked by the teacher, can be a fun way to create an imaginary path where each student takes turns to pronounce or correctly write the number shown on the card. In an alternative version the students can create their own personal board using all 132 numbers included in the game to play an innovative version of bingo where “first” is not only the winner but also one of the numbers picked.

WHAT IS IT?

Verb Draughts is a game which is inspired by the classic game of Draughts and can be used by players with varying levels of English. There are 4 different draught boards to choose from.

Language Aims

Players move the pieces on the board to try and eliminate their opponent. As they move across the board they practise using the verbs they learned along the way.

The game includes 4 draught boards (for different categories of verbs), 30 black pieces and 30 white pieces, 6 cards with subject pronouns, 4 cards with sentence types and 10 cards with verb forms.

• The instruction booklet contains instructions and suggestions on how to use the game in the classroom or at home with friends.

Distance Learning

The cards included in the game and the list of verbs in their infinitive form shown in the guide are perfect to encourage students to conjugate verbs also during online courses and lessons.

What is it? is a photo card game which helps students learn new words, describe everyday objects and talk about the materials they are made of.

Language Aims

The game helps players to increase their vocabulary, develop their ability to describe everyday objects and talk about different types of materials. The game can also be used to practise interrogative, affirmative and negative verb forms.

Contents

The game consists of 132 cards divided into two decks containing 55 cards: one deck of cards with photos of objects and a deck of clue cards with five clues on each card to help guess the object. There are also 11 material cards and 11 help cards providing suggestions for possible questions and answers.

• The instruction booklet contains instructions and suggestions for a series of games and activities in the classroom, at home with friends or during online lessons.

Distance Learning

The object cards and the clue cards can also be used during online lessons and courses. They can be used to organise a quick quiz game. The object cards are shown to the students. Then, one by one, all the clues are read until the object is guessed.
