Why not soak up the sun with your dog at Port Burwell Provincial Park? Your dog will thank you as soon as they step foot on the beautiful sandy beach and cool off in the refreshing water of Lake Erie. Don’t forget your leash at home, as dogs are required to be kept on a leash in certain areas of the park.

Many trails in Elgin are also Fido friendly. From the Kettle Creek Dog Park to the trails in our abundant conservation areas and Provincial Parks, there’s a spot for all tail-waggers and of course their best friends to roam.

2018 Exhibition Schedule February 3 – April 28 ONCE UPON A TIME This exhibition from the Bruce County Museum allows you to experience Europe in Medieval times: handle tools of the period, do a brass rubbing of a famous knight and try on chain mail; get your photo in the pillory.

May 12 – September 1 THE SCOTS IN ELGIN COUNTY Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the arrival in Elgin County of emigrants from the Scottish Highlands, mainly Argyllshire. Descendants of these settlers can still be found in parts of the County and have loaned artifacts brought by their forbearers to Canada including trunks, books, portraits and original letters.

September 15 – December 22 BASEBALL AND BRASS BANDS Small town life had much to offer in 19th century rural Ontario. Every community had a hall, a store and a school; many had a ball team and a brass band. Featuring images, instruments and equipment from the era.
