Cat-Skiing
Located just 10 miles west of Crested Butte, Irwin is a meteorological anomaly, meaning it snows a lot here. Irwin often sees three times the amount of snow as the town of Crested Butte. The town of Irwin sits in the middle of the mountains—only accessible by snowcat or snowmobile in the winter. Whether tackling a narrow couloir or a gladed intermediate run, our snowcats access 1,000 acres of skiable terrain. Most runs begin on Scarp Ridge, where views of the Elk Mountains glimpse 13-14,000 foot peaks.
Backcountry Skiing
From big alpine peaks and open bowls to steep and secluded tree runs, our guides will take you to the best terrain for the freshest tracks. If you’re new to the backcountry, we’ll show you how to safely operate the gear, which includes uphill bindings, a backpack, beacon, shovel, and probe.
Wellness Activities*

Snowshoeing
Our snowshoe tours combine fitness and fun in the Colorado backcountry. Hike through snowblanketed meadows, aspen glades, and timbered forests throughout Crested Butte or hike around Irwin and link up with the ski group.

Cross-Country Skiing
Discover the world of Nordic skiing in the heart of the Nordic Ski Capital of Colorado. With 50 kilometers of pristine trails, the area is perfect for classic and skate skiing. Accessible directly from town, this adventure promises unobstructed views and great exercise.
