Fly Fishing For Atlantic Salmon
This two-rod river offers a unique opportunity for anglers to experience Atlantic salmon fishing that’s as exclusive as it gets. Our stretches of water are reserved for Eleven Angling guests only, and are some of the least-fished beats in Iceland. Two rods have access to an 8-mile stretch of gin-clear water, with 27 marked pools and a good number of unmarked pools. Casting distance averages 40 to 60 feet, and all swing techniques are used—riffle hitch, skated dry flies, tubes, micro tubes, and more. The salmon average 7 pounds, and the largest are over 20 pounds.
Tack on world-class guides who know these waters better than anyone, and you’ve got an experience on the Hölkná that’s truly one of Iceland’s greatest treasures.
