Washington, DC—John Patrick Rademacher, AIA, NCARB, of Loveland, Ohio, was elected as a regional director at the National Council of Architectural Registration Board’s 2020 Annual Business Meeting. Rademacher was nominated to serve on the NCARB Board of Directors by Region 4 (Mid Central), which is comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Rademacher has served on the Ohio Architects Board since 2013, including serving as the board’s president in 2016. In 2015, he was selected by his peers to serve as secretary of NCARB’s Region 4, going on to serve as the region’s treasurer, vice chair, and chair. A dedicated volunteer, Rademacher began volunteering for NCARB committees in 2014, first as an item writer for the Architect Registration Examination ® (ARE®). Since then, he has been a valued member of NCARB’s Experience, Experience Advisory, International Evaluation, Policy Advisory, and Regional Leadership committees. He has also served on the Continuing Education Subcommittee and as a member of NCARB’s Advocacy and Diversity work groups. Rademacher has worked in the architecture profession for nearly 40 years and is currently a principal architect at Elevar Design Group, which has offices in Cincinnati and Dayton. In addition to his work with NCARB, Rademacher has served on the American Institute of Architect’s (AIA) Board Advocacy Committee and as president of AIA Cincinnati. He has also offered his time and expertise to the Miami Township Zoning Commission and the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, Minority Business Partnership. Rademacher earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. He is licensed in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. He also holds the NCARB Certificate for national reciprocity. 1/2
