By Chris Wetterich – Staff reporter and columnist, Cincinnati Business Courier Sep 18, 2020, 1:49pm EDT Despite the pandemic, the parking garage being funded by Hamilton County at the FC Cincinnati stadium site is on time, Commissioner Denise Driehaus said. "It’s on time, on budget. That’s good news," Driehaus told commissioners on Thursday. "They have started to pour the concrete in that facility. It's a very diverse group pof people working on that project for the county." Hamilton County will build two garages that will serve FC Cincinnati on game days – one on the stadium site itself and another near Findlay Market. The precise Findlay Marketarea site has not yet been announced. It struck a deal with the club in December, with the county spending $27 million on the garages. The county will build about 850 spaces at the West End stadium site itself and another 300 at Findlay Market. The club will get 85% of the game day revenue, while the county will receive all of the money on other days. If the county's revenue at the stadium site garage is insufficient to meet operating expenses, the team’s game day share will be reduced to 50% during years three through 12. The same will be true during years one through three at the Findlay Market garage. The county is paying for the project using revenue from its existing garages on the riverfront and in Over-the-Rhine. The county will not use general fund revenue.
