THE CHILDREN of Collier County
Filling a critical void for at-risk and underprivileged children in Collier County, the Naples Children & Education & Foundation (NCEF), founders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival has made a life-changing difference for the most vulnerable youth in our community for the past 22 years.
NCEF’s Mental Health Initiative, named “Beautiful Minds,” is fundamentally transforming and expanding mental health care for at-risk children in Collier County through an
innovative and ground-breaking coalition of health-care providers, community mental health professionals, social services and the public-school system. Established in 2012, this coalition helps children and their families by increasing the number of culturally competent licensed mental health professionals to provide much needed services. Through this initiative, key providers in the community have partnered to help shift the provision of mental health services to an integrated primary care model. Since inception, over 67,000 youth have benefitted from this effective and coordinated approach. Partnering organizations: David Lawrence Centers, FSU Center for Child Stress & Health, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

As a former anxious teen, Solomé founded and operated an online teen mental health non-profit for 10 years.
