Dear TVS Families and Friends,

The Knight is finally here and we could not be more excited to share this special evening with you. After months of planning, meeting, corresponding, and cajoling, we are ready to travel “Around the World” with our families, faculty, and friends tonight at the beautiful Grey Oaks Country Club! As parents, the three of us have walked together through the hallways for years. Our families are friends, our children have often shared the same teachers, there have been play dates, birthday parties, etc., so when we were asked to lead the 2022 gala, we have to admit, we were intrigued. How wonderful to work together in support of the school we - and our children - love! And so the journey began…and indeed, chairing an event like “Around the World in a Knight” is a journey! Lots of moving pieces, so many challenges to be conquered, and goals to be met.

Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome to The Village School of Naples’ celebration “Around the World in a Knight!” And celebrate we will, as we travel from one country station to the next, courtesy of your gala chairs, Sarah Germain, Samantha Moran, and Maggie Talford. 2022 marks my fourth year as Head of School at TVS and my third gala experience. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are involved in making an event like this happen. When you look at the silent & live auction lots, admire the student art projects, or sample a bit of “Italy,” you can be sure that our TVS parents gave hundreds of volunteer hours to ensure this successful event.

Thank you to our extraordinary team of volunteers, without whom “Around the World in a Knight” would have never come to fruition. From decor to marketing, student art projects, auction lots, country baskets and so much more, our parent volunteers remained committed from the start.

I am humbled by and grateful to our wonderful sponsors for their passionate support of our school. How fortunate we are to be a part of such a wonderful, caring community.

The RWBand is one of the hottest wedding, corporate and social bands. With a diverse number of musical artists, you’ll want to dance, dance, dance! The leader of the band, multi-talented singer and performer Robert Williamson, has performed onstage with an incredible array of pop/ R&B legends and genre-hopped from classic rock and soul to Latin and dance music. Robert has written for, recorded with and produced numerous pop, R&B and Motown artists and has composed scores for films and commercials and is currently heard worldwide on VH1. Robert surrounds himself with talented musicians and performers, guaranteeing a good time is had by all!

Some may know Jim Breuer as a freewheeling, New York-bred comic storyteller, and others may recognize his as Dori’s dad! Yes, Jim Breuer is married, a parent, and the father of three daughters, the youngest of whom is currently a junior at TVS. Lucky for us, Jim has offered to perform his comedy show for us on April 29, 2022 at Silverspot Theater, with all proceeds benefiting The Village School! Many will remember Jim from his days starring in Saturday Night Live (95-98), where he gained national attention as “Goat Boy”, among other characters. Working alongside fellow cast members Will Ferrell, David Spade and Norm McDonald, Jim gained national attention for his portrayal of “Goat Boy” and his wicked impression of Joe Pesci. Some even still associate him with Half Baked, a stoner comedy flick from around that time that starred Dave Chappelle and featured cameos by Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Tommy Chong. Over the years, Jim has been something of a multi-media sensation currently appearing alongside Kevin James on Kevin Can Wait on CBS as well as popular films Zookeeper, Dick, Titan A.E. and Beer League; hosting MTV’s popular Beach House and VH1’s Web Junk 20; and being featured on Comedy Jam, This Is Not Happening, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Howard Stern, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Marriage Ref, and most recently, Tucker Carlson, and Joe Rogan. “I’m a deep-rooted family guy with hardcore blue-collar roots,” he says. “My job as a comic is to talk about the many great loves of my life, recognizing that yes, we are all on borrowed time but we can still enjoy life with a passion and not get caught up in all the madness,” Breuer adds. “There are always things that can become an obstacle to our happiness, and the big three for me that I smack into most are divisions in the family, financial struggles and health issues. For me, there’s no better feeling in the world than making someone laugh and knowing that I’ve inspired or healed someone. our own, always surrounded by faith and love.

Therese O’Shea is a long-time News and Traffic Anchor for local CBS affiliate, WINK News. After 11 years in broadcast news, she recently transitioned to working in corporate communications for Arthrex. Originally from New Jersey, Therese is an alumna of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and previously worked for the NBC affiliate in Western Colorado. Therese commits time to several local philanthropic and education initiatives, including St. Matthew’s House and the NextGen Speaker Series. Above all, she and her husband Brian are mom and dad to two wonderful kids, Colin (5) and Shea (3).
