Embodied Space

Ravensbourne University, London 2022

The human body was the foundation for studies and played a crucial role in understanding scale and spatial relationships By analysing and redefining the interactions between the body, materials, and movement, students were encouraged to explore and create a wearable object that is tailored to the body and inspired by it For the creation of their wearable object, students were introduced to folding techniques and modular systems and worked with paper as the main material of their experiments The project aimed to open up a dialogue and negotiate the boundaries of the discipline and the cross-overs with fashion, dance and performance through the relationships of garment and shelter, body and move, function and form

Workshop 1

University of Nicosia 2019

In 2022 for the “paper scissors rock” workshop, a collaboration with Korallia Stergides, a performance artist, was established Using walk as an act and a selection of body movements the participants –students were asked to connect with their own body, with other surrounding bodies and with materials such as paper, aluminium, plastic and fabric

Genius Loci

Grymsdyke Farm 2023

In February 2023, I worked with a number of Y1 students at Grymsdyke Farm for the “Genius Loci” short workshop Students using their hands and the workshop facilities of the farm worked around the brief and practised different craft techniques such as casting, mould making and ceramic wheel Students were also introduced to digital fabrication techniques, aiming to explore the crossover between digital and traditional making techniques

Iconic Houses

Ravensbourne Univerisity, London 2021-2023

Students were called to work individually and study an existing Iconic house, through drawings and models and recreate the house’s plan views, and elevations and build a physical model The reproduction process helped them to understand better the house and its details The main goal of the exercise was to give the students an advanced understanding of how you create a drawing set of a building. What are the main elements that you have to include and what do they look like? Through building a replica of a physical model of the chosen house students also practiced their model making skills and their understanding on the transformation a 2dimentional drawing into a 3d dimensional object

Ravensbourne Univerisity, London 2021-2023

As part of the Skills Module for Y1 students, the project Level up was an exercise to understand the different types of staircases and the design possibilities

Armatures of movement

Y1 Students – Semester 1

Ravensbourne Architecture, 2021

The project explored ways of observing, recording and interpreting qualities of the architecture and spaces around us. Through a range of drawing and making processes students had the chance to re-think and translate these interpretations into three-dimensional constructions, creating structures that explore the intangible and ephemeral in built form.

The aim was to question the idea of architecture as static physical form and consider how it might respond to human interaction and other forces and influences.

Mapping exercise

Y1 Students – Semester 2

Mapping the Seven Sisters Area and Market place

The sample of work is from a mapping exercise that the students had to undertake in order to explore and understand the are of intervention.
