From waffle irons to the world’s leader in strength Eleiko manufactured small electrical appliances including waffle irons. In 1957 our factory supervisor Mr Hällström, frustrated with barbells constantly bending and breaking, approached Mrs Johansson, our managing director, with an inspired idea — build a better barbell. The bar was crafted from specially formulated Swedish steel with knurling inspired by the waffle iron pattern. 8

Expand beyond the traditional notion of what a rack can be with Eleiko Prestera. Modular design Prestera is available as a Half Rack, Double Half Rack or Power Rack and can even adapt between those options if needs change over time. Each frame offers distinct advantages, from maximizing footprint and storage options to dedicating more space for lifting and training.

Sleek uprights, optimized geometry and precise adjustment increments give lifters greater control and improved safety. The Prestera Rack frame geometry balances the needs of bench presses and squats, optimising the spacing for each lift. An extra level of precision Prestera is available with powder-coated or stainless steel uprights. Stainless upright support more precise adjustments, increased durability, and are recommended for gliding attachments in both rack and rigs. Nottingham Forest F.C. UK

The new Nottingham Forest FC training facility was designed with several key objectives in mind. The primary goal was to create a spacious and efficient training environment capable of accommodating the entire team during sessions. The facility required ample floor and rack space alongside versatile equipment to support a variety of training needs. Additionally, the club prioritized designated areas for performance testing while encouraging a stimulating atmosphere essential for peak performance. Bespoke elements of the facility, such as the custom-branded Prestera rack layout, eccentric pulley frame, and accessories storage, have been pivotal in tailoring the space to meet the club’s requirements. Notably, the storage solutions integrated between the racks have enhanced the organization of the facility, improving session flow, reducing downtime between exercises, and increasing overall efficiency. The University of Nottingham, UK The University of Nottingham is one of the leading universities in the UK. Awarded University of the Year in 2022, it offers some of the best Sports Science courses in the UK and boasts 37 on-site sporting facilities. Which is why we are proud to have been chosen as the strength equipment partner for the High Performance Zone refurbishment, set in the £40 million David Ross Sports Village. The High Performance Zone offers a state-of-the-art training facility for performance athletes, including a 60m sprint track and the latest fitness technology. As well as delivering programs for scholarship student athletes and performance squads, Nottingham’s experienced strength and conditioning team work closely with professional clubs such as British Weightlifting and athletes wishing to use the facility. Greenville University, USA Greenville University set out to create one of the nation’s premier weight rooms, designed to serve students, staff, and faculty. With the university’s expanding student-athlete population and campus growth, they required a facility capable of supporting diverse strength training needs while inspiring performance across the entire university. The challenge was to transform a bare space into a state-ofthe-art sports performance center that would support collegiate athletics and a wide range of strength-focused programs. The project demanded durability, safety, long-term reliability, and completion within a year. Eleiko partnered with the university to deliver a comprehensive, customized strength solution, including equipment, flooring, and storage. Custom-branded Prestera racks were designed to create versatile, multi-purpose training stations, maximizing space and supporting sport-specific programs. Rugby School, UK Once an old shooting range now high-performance gym, the Rugby School space was transformed to meet the growing demands of the school’s athletic development provision. With the Strength and Conditioning program within the school catering for pupils as young as 13, right through to junior internationals at 18, the school needed to create an inspiring training space that could facilitate the varying demands of all students and encourage progression throughout the school.

The refurbished performance gym opens the space to more students, allowing greater contact time and a unique training environment that can be enjoyed by all. Students now have the option to train independently or as part of a squad using the Prestera Power Racks with an array of lifting attachments, and coaches have greater access to the tools they need to progress students training.

Functionality as well as aesthetics were key to the brief and the customised Prestera Power racks helped to meet both criteria. Custom-branded Prestera racks and a variety of Eleiko strength tools such as speciality barbells, sport training plates, plate dumbbells, a dual adjustable pulley machine and more, unlock a host of new training possibilities for both students and coaches – as well as a safe environment in which to perform the Olympic weightlifting movements. Custom rack colours, branded sport training plates, turf track and plyo boxes were also implemented, harnessing the school’s identity throughout for a unique lifting experience. Rugby School has a rich history in sport, producing the game that millions love worldwide. Located in Msheireb Downtown, Doha’s pioneering smart city dedicated to preserving Qatari heritage, Virgin Active Qatar was designed to blend world-class training with local cultural respect and inclusivity. Eleiko worked closely with Virgin Active to deliver a comprehensive strength solution across the Male Gym, Female Gym, and Grid studio as well. Well-Come Fitness, Denmark Well-Come Fitness aimed to become one of the world’s most exclusive membership gyms by maintaining the highest standards in training and member experience. Eleiko provided a full-strength solution, going beyond premium equipment to redesign Well-Come’s training environment. Prestera Cable stations expanded the gym’s offerings, while three Eleiko Half Racks with SVR platforms created a noise-reduced, versatile training hub. The CrossFit room underwent a major redesign, replacing a floor-mounted rig with three wall-mounted rigs, increasing floor space and improving coach oversight. These upgrades empowered trainers with greater flexibility and introduced members to advanced training opportunities—all in a premium setting designed to optimize functionality and reduce disruption. Studio Locomotion, Canada Studio Locomotion set out to reimagine their facility — creating a high-performance training space that embodied their values of precision, care, and excellence. The project began in late 2021 as the team prepared for a full studio revamp. Working closely with Eleiko, the layout and equipment strategy focused on maximizing functionality within a strategic footprint while maintaining a premium feel. The first installation was completed in December 2022, featuring Eleiko Prestera Double Half Racks with SVR insert platforms, XF bars and plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, benches, GHDs, and custom storage to create a performance-focused environment. In early 2024, phase two introduced stainless steel uprights, integrated cables, a Prestera multistation with lat pulldown and low row, along with stall bars and custom bar storage. At the center of the studio is a line of eight Prestera Double Half Racks, dividing the space into two zones: group training and personal training/open gym. Up to 16 people can train during group sessions, with cable attachments at each rack expanding movement and programming options. Space efficiency was critical. Eleiko’s modular Prestera multistation enabled versatile cable training in a compact format, improving flow and freeing up floor space. The modular system also allowed Locomotion to expand and upgrade without replacing the original setup. The result has had an immediate impact. The quality and layout of the equipment elevate the energy of each session, reinforcing a strong connection between environment, coaching, and training experience.

NK Padel and Social by Ascaro, Sweden NK Padel & Social by ASCARO is Sweden’s most spectacular paddle and training facility, located on the rooftop of Nordiska Kompaniet above Regeringsgatan in Stockholm. The premium facility consists of four paddle courts, a 300 meter long running track, an Eleiko-equipped outdoor gym and lounge area. The 3000 sqm rooftop area will also offer events with a focus on health and well-being, creating a new social hotspot for visitors and members to play, train and socialize — all with a stunning view over central Stockholm. Eleiko has outfitted the complete outdoor gym area, featuring galvanized rigs and racks, as well as free weights such as kettlebells, barbells, plates, and dumbbells and some cardio units. The training area allows for both strength training and spacious areas for hosting classes or personal training sessions. The galvanized finish provides protection against the elements, allowing the rigs and racks to stay outdoors year-round. “The outdoor training trend is here to stay, and Eleiko is very excited to be a part of NK Padel & Social. CrossFit Munich West, Germany The new CrossFit Munich West location sets a high standard for functional yet aesthetic CrossFit facilities. Since its opening at the end of 2023, it has reaped praise from members, visiting athletes and coaches for its impressive design and functionality. Spanning approximately 400 square meters of dedicated training space, the facility offers ample room for members to pursue their fitness goals. The inclusion of two Prestera freestanding rigs allows for simultaneous classes, while a Prestera wall rig and weightlifting platforms in the open gym area further enhance the training experience for an array of strength training movements. “In a city like Munich, where rental costs are high, optimizing space is crucial”. CrossFit 1583, Edinburgh UK CrossFit 1583 is a purpose-built training space designed to bring a designated functional fitness space to campus at the University of Edinburgh. Developed over three years, the facility reflects the university’s commitment to evolving its sport and wellbeing offer, with a focus on community, inclusivity, and performance. The project was driven by a noticeable shift in training habits — a demand for varied, high-intensity, coachled sessions that go beyond traditional gym offerings. While the university’s existing facilities were well equipped, there was a clear opportunity to create a dedicated environment for small-group CrossFit-style training, rooted in progression and positive community engagement. The goal was to design a space that could deliver high-volume, high-intensity programming safely and effectively — welcoming everyone from beginners to advanced athletes. Durability, accessibility, and long-term sustainability were key requirements.

Les Deux, Denmark The modern workplace. When the fashion company Les Deux moved into a new office space in Copenhagen in the autumn of 2021, they wanted to create something more than just an office. The modern workplace keeps employee well-being in focus. Scandinavian interior design and select premium brands reflect the company’s identity. The heart of the office space, and the first thing visitors are greeted by, is a basketball court. It is adjacent to a wine bar and surrounded by conference rooms, office spaces, a showroom, lunch room, a wall of fame and “The Fitness Room” from Eleiko. Les Deux wanted a room specifically for training in smaller groups while needing flexible equipment that was easy to move for larger group training. The result was a 40 sqm space-efficient gym where employees can train according to their own ability.

Rémy Martin, France Rémy Martin is a well-known French company that specializes in Cognac production. The company aimed to provide its employees with a training area to promote their well-being. To accomplish this goal, Rémy Martin worked with Eleiko to build a complete solution based on functional training movements that could support their employees achieve better performance in their work and in their life — and evolve and grow with the company’s needs.

The main objective was to create a functional training area for Rémy Martin’s employees. The area is designed to help employees develop their physical and mental health through strength, weightlifting, gymnastics, and other functional movements. To that end, Eleiko proposed a customized rig that could be adapted to a variety of training styles, such as cross-fit classes, strength workouts, boxing classes and cardio classes. We also provided our full range of free weight strength equipment such as kettlebells and dumbbells.

The Rémy Martin facility is unique for a corporate wellness solution because it was based on a functional training area instead of a traditional corporate gym. Unlike traditional gyms, 95% of the equipment in their facility was functional equipment and 5% was standard machines. Jacy'z Sports Club, Sweden Jacy’z Hotel is a modern resort of adventures in a 100-meter -high skyscraper in the city centre of Gothenburg. They call them selves “The Resort that never sleeps” and behind the audacious glass facade you will find 27 floors of experiences, such as a wellspring of restaurants, bars, premium pool club and activities. On the third floor, they have a Sports Club in an open space with large panoramic windows. It is a multi-functional training area offering personal training, group training and supporting their hotel guests and club members with all the strength essentials for a complete session. Eleiko equipped Jacy’z with a wide range of products such as a free-standing rig with plenty of storage for barbells, kettlebells and dumbbells accompanied by benches and a set up of cardio machines.

Danish Defence & Arctic Command Gym Facility Eleiko supported the Danish Defence in establishing a high-performance training facility for the Arctic Command in Greenland, designed to help deployed soldiers and their families maintain fitness, health, and operational readiness in one of the world’s most challenging environments. Working closely with local training experts, Eleiko delivered a tailored setup featuring a custom Prestera rig with integrated racks, SVR lifting platforms, multiple training attachments, and Öppen and IWF barbells with plates and dumbbells for progressive strength training. Dedicated open areas support group workouts and dynamic, movement-based sessions, while adjustable benches, GHD stations, and specialty equipment enhance versatility. Cardio and conditioning zones complete the facility, creating a comprehensive, hybrid training environment. The next generation A new chapter The Blomberg family was part of the Eleiko story long before acquiring the company. A close friend of the original owners, Mr. and Mrs. Johansson, Lennart Blomberg was a seasoned entrepreneur when Eleiko became available for purchase in 1997. Recognising its great potential — and with a touch of nostalgia — the Blombergs acquired the company, keeping it family-owned and operated ever since. The next generation Today, the next generation leads Eleiko, carrying forward a legacy of strength and innovation. Mrs. Gunnila Blomberg remains actively involved as a member of the board. CEO Erik Blomberg guides the company with the same principled leadership his father instilled — where humour, optimism,

“Lifting makes me complete”

Gunnila Blomberg, owner of Eleiko, share her story of how at 67 years old, she’s the strongest she’s ever been — and how lifting has become an essential part of living life to the fullest.

"At 67, I am probably the strongest I have ever been. Lifting makes me able to live life to the fullest."

Even though I’ve been surrounded by weights and bars for many years at Eleiko, I only started lifting about 6 years ago. I’ve been active my whole life, but never strength training. I also had some problems with back pain. One day, I came to a point in my life where everything changed. My husband passed away and left me and my children responsible for Eleiko. This was a very challenging time in my life.

My strength allows me to do what I want in my life, like mountain bike in the woods or by the ocean or play paddle tennis with my girlfriends. This year, I was also able to complete Vasaloppet. I never thought I could achieve that a few years ago. My whole life is impacted by being strong. It makes my everyday life so much easier. I can carry my groceries up three flights of stairs by myself and have the strength and energy to play with and lift my grandchildren. That has always been my main goal with my training — to be able to keep living life to the fullest, every day.

At that time, my son Erik, CEO at Eleiko, came to me with a gift — a package of personal training sessions with Micke, a personal trainer here in Halmstad. He taught me how to lift and showed me what lifting is really about. The back problem I had suffered from almost all my life just disappeared. For the past 6 years, I’ve trained with Micke almost every week – and I feel healthier than ever.

We have successfully reshored sourcing for core products, apparel, and gear — and continue to invest in in-house manufacturing for greater sustainability and efficiency.
