fyi... Trade Shows are Coming, EA Celebrates 32 Years & A Mule Trading Story As we move into August, The Electrical Advertiser begins to prepare and focus on our upcoming trade shows. The months of September and October are always the busiest of the year and 2015 is no exception. On Sept 29-Oct 1 we will be exhibiting at the ICUEE (International Construction Utility Equipment Expo) show in Louisville, KY. This utility and utility contractor show is one of the largest in the United States and will have as many as 20,000 in attendance. ICUEE has a tremendous following and the equipment displayed, from trucks, transformers, powerline equipment and much more, is outstanding. It is estimated there will be over 900 exhibitors. The show has topped over 1 million square feet of indoor and outdoor space utilized. On Oct 3-6 NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) is having its yearly conference and trade show in San Francisco at the Moscone Center. The NECA show has become one of the largest trade conventions in the electrical industry and is very well attended. It will be fun to visit with many of our customers and advertisers. For our many westcoast readers, if you take the time to attend this show, I am sure you will be pleased. The Electrical Advertiser’s booth is #1244. If you get to the NECA show please stop by. AMC-QMQB™ UL-98 Listed Replacement Switch
The AMC-QMQB™ brand panelboard switches are designed to replace existing FPE panelboard switches without any modifications to the existing switchboard. The AMC-QMQB™ brand switches are UL-98 Listed, File Number E466967. Originally manufactured by Federal Pacific Electric (FPE), these switches were also licensed and manufactured under the names of American Circuit Breaker, Challenger, Frank Adams, Sylvania, and Zinsco. Our QMQB™ brand of panelboard switches will replace all of these Manufacturer’s switches without any modifications to the existing switchboard.

On Oct 21-24 the IEC (Independent Electrical Contractors) will sponsor its 58th Annual National Convention & Electric Expo in Tampa, FL. This national contractors organization has been growing over the last few years and the attendance both at the conference and trade show have reflected this. A few years ago IEC went to a multi-day trade show which has added to the shows success. And finally, on Oct 28-29 the Electrical Expo 2015 occurs in King of Prussia, PA (outside of Philadelphia). This wonderful show brings together contractors and plant personnel from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, delaware, Connecticut and the entire northeast. It is a very busy show with many electrical distributors bringing in bus loads of contractors. during the last Electric Expo, 20+ buses arrived at the show during the 2 days. The attendance was over 3000 and there were 200+ exhibitors. The same is expected in 2015. Our booth number is #195, so please look us up when you are there. I thought you would enjoy this Mule Trading Story... Curtis & Leroy saw an ad in the Starkville daily in Starkville, MS and bought a mule for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the mule the next day. The next morning the farmer drove up and said,"Sorry, fellows, I have some bad news, the mule died last night." Curtis & Leroy replied,"Well, then just give us our money back." The farmer said,"Can't do that. I went and spent it already." They said, "OK then, just bring us the dead mule." The farmer asked, "What in the world ya'll gonna do with a dead mule?" Curtis said, "We gonna raffle him off." The farmer said, "You can't raffle off a dead mule!" Leroy said, "We shore can! Heck, we don't hafta tell nobody he's dead!" A couple of weeks later, the farmer ran into Curtis & Leroy at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store and asked. "What'd you fellers ever do with that dead mule?" They said,"We raffled him off like we said we wuz gonna do." Leroy said,"Shucks, we sold 500 tickets fer two dollars apiece and made a profit of $998." The farmer said,"My Lord, didn't anyone complain?" Curtis said, "Well, the feller who won got upset. So we gave him his two dollars back." Curtis and Leroy now work for the government. They're overseeing the Bailout & Stimulus Programs.
