Grant Description: Tahoe Women’s Community Fund is a giving circle that provides grant opportunities annually. These grants usually range from $5,000 - $10,000. This grant may be completed by nonprofits who work directly to improve the community on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. Nonprofits serving the South Shore of Lake Tahoe (both CA and NV sides) are eligible to apply. If a nonprofit received a grant the year prior, they are not eligible to apply for one year.

Hearts & Mind Technology Grant

Grant Description: Welcome to the Hearts and Minds Grant Process. Our Mission is "to provide students in El Dorado County with technology and tools necessary for success in the 21st century with an emphasis on vocational education and hands on experiences for youth on the Western Slope." This grant is open to schools and nonprofits serving Western Slope public schools in El Dorado County. This grant is for "student-used" technology. Licensing Fees will not be funded with this grant. Grant applications of up to $2,500 will be accepted.

Grant Description: The Pay It Forward Project partners with local school service clubs and organizations that work to build a better community with community service projects and environmental projects that build for a better community. The Pay It Forward Project Grant Application is a youth empowerment grant for student clubs or organizations from any of the El Dorado County High Schools (CA), Douglas County High Schools (NV), and Carson City High Schools (NV) who are planning a community service project that gives back to the community. This grant centers on giving back to the community, respecting our fellow man, and continually looking ahead on how to make the world a better place for everyone in it. This grant, if approved will provide up to $500.00 for a student club's project or up to $1,000 in matching funds that student organizations raise for a community and/or environmentally focused project that builds a better community through volunteerism during theschoolyearinwhichtheyapply.

GRANT PROCESS OVERVIEW

The El Dorado Community Foundation facilitates many competitive grant cycles throughout the year. When funding is available from any of these funds, the Foundation distributes a Request for Proposal (RFP) detailing the funding focus and application deadline.

Nonprofit organizations are welcome to apply for grants so long as:

The non-profit is in good standing with the IRS, SOS, and DOJ (AG)

The organization qualifies for the grant cycles. Please read all requirements carefully!

The non-profits directly serve El Dorado County Residents (please read specifics with each grant being offered)

You can check the status of your nonprofit organization to ensure that you are in compliance with each agency by using the links below:

IRS database shows IRS filings for the past year(s).

CA Secretary of State website will show “active and up-to-date” when in compliance.

CA Department of Justice website to verify registration is current.

If your entity is not based out of California, please submit comparable paperwork/screenshot for the state your entity is registered in.

THESE ARE REQUIRED unless your organization is a faith-based organization, a government entity, or a Native American Tribe recognized by the federal government.
