Welcome to the 32nd Anniversary Gala of El Centro Hispano! It is a privilege to celebrate with you tonight as we come together to honor our journey and recognize the remarkable contributions of individuals and organizations that have profoundly impacted our community Your support and commitment to our cause have been instrumental in transforming countless lives, and we are profoundly grateful for your generosity and dedication.

Tonight, we reflect on the milestones we have achieved and the lives we have touched, thanks to the incredible support from our community Each of you plays a vital role in our mission, and it is through your efforts that El Centro Hispano continues to thrive and make a difference.

As we look ahead, we are inspired by the progress we have made and the promise of what is yet to come. Together, we will continue to empower, uplift, and transform our community.

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation is a private, charitable foundation established as an independent entity by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina in 2000. For more than two decades, Blue Cross NC Foundation has been honored to work with – and support –organizations, government entities, and community partnerships across the entire state, investing more than $220 million in North Carolina through grants, collaborations, and special initiatives

CRISTINA ESPAÑA

Cristina España, a Guatemal-tica (a Guatemalan born in Costa Rica), is Governor Roy Cooper's Deputy Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, leading initiatives for the inclusion of New Americans in North Carolina (as the first appointed for this purpose) and represents the state at the Office of New Americans National Network

Volunteer of the Year CARLOS RUBIO

Carlos is the General Manager at the Delta by Marriott in Durham, NC, a position he has held since 2020. For the past year and a half, Carlos has dedicated his time to volunteering once a week at El Centro Hispano, to give back and connect with passionate, like-minded individuals who are also committed to supporting the community.
