As I reflect on the past year, I’m inspired by the resilience, compassion, and dedication that defines our community. In a time of continued uncertainty and transition, we are standing together—committed to the belief that every individual deserves theopportunitytolivewithdignityand purpose.

Our work this year has been grounded in deep listening and collective action. We’ve continued to meet people where they are, walking alongside them as they navigate challenges and pursue their goals. We’ve strengthened relationships, built trust, and expanded our reach in waysthatwillhavelastingimpact.

OurImpact

Education

715 children engaged through preschool, library programs, tutoring, childcare, summer camp, and STEM activities. We also provided 121 library events.

198 youth participated in the Youth Leaders in Action Program, which focuses on leadership development, college readiness, service learning, and Spanish Institute program. 551 individuals attended parent education, basic reading, math, and writing program, ESL classes, computer class, parent leaders and childhood advocate leaders.

Economic Development

1,420 people received employment and taxes services, and job training in collaboration with Durham Tech and other workforce development partners, as well as financial literacy education. 1,538 community members with the support of 198 employers were connected and/or referred to jobs and opportunities at our Casa for Employment & Leadership (CEL)

Community Support

33,945 people assisted in-person and over the people assisted with essentials such as rent, utilities, diapers, and food, and legal services referrals.

Community Health

23,605 people served through our mobile unit. 34,397 individuals were reached to promote good health, physical activity, and disease prevention through our partnership with the Mexican consulate and community health workers. Additionally, we engaged 62,881 people through our events and distributed 2,520 food bags.

305 LGBTQ+ community members participating in support groups, activities, and workshops.

Civic Resource Center

19 individuals successfully completed our citizenship classes.

728 adults gained valuable knowledge about their rights through 61 informational sessions.

68 participants were supported with Power Of Attorney documents

12 legislative visits were conducted.

18 Faith ID drives were held, serving 333 participants.

245 community service members received DWI classes.

Volunteer OfTheYear

Katelyn Jessenia Robalino is the Town of Chapel Hill’s Language Access Coordinator. In this role, she leads the Town’s Building Integrated Communities Initiative (BIC) to create inclusive government practices for immigrant and refugeecommunities.

Her Town work intersects with El Centro’s community-first mission, so she tables often at their events and collaborates with staA to connect Spanish-speakers to Town resources. In addition to volunteering as an interpreter for El Centro, Katelyn alsoservesontheirNuestraVozcommittee
