ODE FROM THE COMMITTEE CHRISTMAS 2013 Another year has passed us by, But we don’t have a reason to cry We’ve done some things throughout the year And gathered memories we all hold dear We’ve met each month and played the game, No two weeks are ever the same. We’ve driven and walked and danced and sang, To some brilliant places, close at hand Behind the scenes we have a team, Who come alive and start to dream, Of meals & quizzes and prizes galore, Committee meets are never a bore We’ve thrown at skittles and tasted good wine, Scratched our heads for answers to rhymes. We’ve listened hard to talks and shows, And give our thanks to everyone who goes. Off we went to Doñana Park, We wore you out from dawn till dark! Everyone said they had such fun, And keeping up just had to be done. We ate our fill and danced till dawn Wishing different shoes we’d worn! The fellas wore suits and the ladies wore frocks, Boy did we make Viñuela rock! Behind the scenes we all work hard, To make each event go off with a spark. We may not always get it right, But we won’t give up without a fight. Well there we go another year, And we will be here, do not fear We hope that we can do it right, And it all comes together on the night. So all that’s left for us to say, Have a Happy Christmas day, We’ll be here and in good cheer, Ready to tackle another year. From all the committee we wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year.
