Welcome Welcome and thank you for registering for the Skatemania Preston Event. This event consists of a Half Marathon, Full Marathon and Dual Marathon. Whether you are raising money for charity or simply enjoying skating outdoors with family and friends, we hope you will have an enjoyable day.

Getting to the Start The event is at Preston Arena, Tom Benson Way, Preston, PR2 1SG. From the North and South leave the M6 at J32 onto the A6 signposted in the direction of Preston.

Turn Left onto Eastway B6241, Turn left to stay on EastWay B6241, At the roundabout continue on the B6241, Continue along the B6241 through 4 roundabouts, You will come to Preston Sports Arena at the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit into the venue.

Parking is available in any of the designated car parks.

Event Times & Registration The event will start at the times stated below and finish at 17:30, so please come to the registration area with your PayPal transaction receipt half an hour before your specific event takes place to collect your event number. If you do not have this then just let registration know your name and they will look it up on the system.

Registration is upstairs in the “Final Whistle Café”

Welcome to RS Pro Riders Skate Shop At RS Pro Riders we offer only the best possible quality products at affordable prices. We are located in the UK but supplying and shipping throughout Europe and the USA on a daily basis.

We specialise in all types of skate bearings but also stock other related items for skate, skateboard and scooter enthusiasts, So whatever your ride please add us to your favourites and keep giving us a visit as our stock is constantly growing.

Route The route for this event is approx. 1 mile, which incorporates the whole circuit. The Half Marathon will be 13 laps and the Full Marathon 26 laps. Take care going over the small bridge section and DO listen to Event Staff instructions.

There is one water point on circuit just after the start line on the right of the circuit where you will be able to grab free water whilst you are skating. Please keep hydrated and please DO NOT throw empty bottles on the circuit but put them in the bins provided.

Weather As we all know the UK weather can be unpredictable at the best of times. Please check the weather before the event and dress appropriately.

Don’t forget sun cream if it is going to be a sunny day. If the day is wet then surfaces can be slippery, so please skate within your own capabilities and at your own risk. Please consider other participants.

We want you to have a safe and enjoyable day skating.

You Are Strongly Advised to...

Wear a helmet and safety gear whilst skating at the event.

Ensure your skates are safe and in good working condition for skating outdoors.

Make sure you have a back stop or front stoppers mounted on your skates to enable you to stop.

Watch your speed on the very slight descent sections of the circuit.

Dress for the weather conditions on the day of the event.

Ask for assistance on the day from a member of staff if you require any help.

Take a rest if needed whilst skating, then continue when you are ready to do so.

Remember this is NOT a race, it’s an enjoyable session of outdoor skating even though some will be skating towards personal times.

Skaters MUST...

Act responsible at all times Stay on the signed route Skate within your own capabilities Be aware of other skaters at all times. If you are passing another skater please pass them on the right hand side. If you are being passed please keep to the left.

Timing The event will start and finish as per the event timings. It is the participants responsibility to keep track of their own laps and times.

We will note the skater finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category.

Medical Cover There are Event Staff on site who are first aid trained and staff around the circuit with radios should you need attending to.

Please remain safe and remember you take part in this event at your own risk.
